PP Update 1 - Elections and Congress

Hello everyone and welcome to what will be hopefully the first of many updates for this term.



PP Election

I'd like to start by saying thank you to everyone who voted for me (or wished me luck if you aren't in ESO) and commiserations to the other candidates for what was a very close election.

To give you some idea of just how close it was when I went to bed, me and Nickalollyoff were tied on votes at 20 a piece. When I got up it was already past the deadline (by 10 mins) so I didn't know who had won until after I got back from work.

But anyway looking forward to having a good month and continuing the great work of those before me.



Leadership and Volunteer team

Though there is plenty to do so for anyone looking for a first step in politics or to help out their party then get in touch.



Congress

Next big milestone for the party is congress elections and unfortunately the party is currently in 6th position. Now whilst we are working on breaking back into the top 5, there is a very real possibility of us not being there by the elections. But there is nothing to worry about as being outside of the top 5 isn't the set back it used to be. Talks have begun with other parties about running with them in the event of us being 6th come the election, which if we recieve more than one offer will go to a party wide ballot by the 20th to decide who to run with. Whilst I may have an opinion on who I'd like to see us run with, it is for the party to decide.

As I said in my mainifesto, despite running beneath another party, any congressmembers we get will not be forced to vote with that party but encouraged to vote for what they think is in the eUKs best interests.

Because of the tight schedule and the possibility of us not being in the top 5, putting your name down to run in game may not be enough so it is important that you contact me if you are interested in running so we can give you more information.
