Poverty Strikes Denmark!

Day 101, 08:49 Published in Sweden Sweden by Grev Per

COPENHAGEN, Denmark It's a desolate sight to see when wondering the streets of the once great Copenhagen. A nation that was the benchmark of a perfect economy has now lowered itself into a 3rd world situation. With 40% unemployment Denmark has surpassed the typical Eastern European country by almost twice as much.

Exacerbating the problem is the fact that 100% of Denmark is homeless. For mysterious reasons the hotel and hospital industry is completely non-existant. Those lucky enough to have jobs are those who work in the food and weapons industry. This is a natural development as the most important aspect of homeless survival is food and self-defence.

The question still remains for what this means for the nation? Wellness levels are relatively high for those who have jobs. And perhaps it's a testament to the easy-going Dane that wellness among the unemployed is not particularly low either, the test of time is how long can Denmark remain sustainable? The true sign of poverty back in the early 1990's the measure of poverty was living for a dollar a day. Today the average Danish salary is 1.51 DKK, which is about .60USD. Almost half a dollar under the poverty line!

We asked an unemplyed Danish man, Phillip Klarskov (an actual player that needs a job) what he thought about his situation. His response was "It's tough man, you just go day by day and hope to god that a job in the food sector will come along."
