Politieke overname in de Verenigde Nederlanden
CreveRoeland
Beste VNL'ers,
Roeland Creve
ex-President van België
Voormalig voorzitter PGV
Trots lid van GVD!

Congratulations BP!
I am looking forward to an BP / LSD / I&W government.
Misschien had je beter je best moeten doen in de verkiezingen, wat meer zetels halen ofzo als je zo bang voor ze bent.
no RW !!!!!
We stay together ... please read our program
kesskidit?
Losing your congress seat 10 minutes before the end of the election, that must have been very painful for you 🙁
@Vanouze: CreveRoeland can't read the BP program because he is blinded by distrust 😛
@eRepublik "old" members : "politieke overname", is that the translation for "politcal takeover" ? And in eRepublik "TO" has a negative connotation ?
you are right Ren Vanecx
we don't make a TO ... you forget just that your opinion is not the opinion of all the belgian people ... You where belgium president ... but it's past ... Now we are ther and we would stay together with eNetherland.
this election had nothing to do with politics, it was walloon nationalism. Why create a "Belgian Party"? You could have joined a VNL-party and really INTIGRATE in the VNL.
Creve Roeland take Maalox®
CreveRoeland agains shows his true character. Instead of congratulating the winner of these democratic elections, he slanders the Belgian party as a secessionist party and seeks to feed fears in our country by depicting BP's victory as a hostile take-over.
CreveRoeland's party took part in the previous government, and lost!
CreveRoeland showed a lack of respect for this great nation's democratic institution, when he as Chairman of Parliament violated his neutral position and decided to spy on the Belgian Party.
CreveRoeland, when faced with charges of espionage, then tried to conceal evidence by altering previous statements.
CreveRoeland is aspiring to become the Berlusconi of the Low Countries, and has in my book lost all credibility.
+1 Iyasus
GVD did not loose only half of their seats in the congress but they lost a lot of votes compared to the last elections from 53 to 37 votes. So it is for sure most of the citizens are in favour of working together as BP wants and not in favour of Dutch nationalism or Walloon nationalism.
Now is the time to work together.
Shame on you CreveRoeland !
37,5% is not a majority so in order to pass any laws they require the help of other parties. So the balance of power is not in favor of the Belgian party.
Mitch Rapp, you said that in reaction of what ? And btw, the balance of power is in favor of which party ?
Mitch Rapp just concluded that the Belgian Party does not have full majority to be a threat to the United Netherlands, as CreveRoeland probably suggested in this article.
Yes, this truly shows CreveRoelands opinion on the Walloon players. It is said that he pronounces this new party as to blame of the losses of his own...
I think CreveRoeland should be looking for a new party.😃
I can find no expression of democracy or equality in this article, 'principles' of his party the GVD.
On the contrary, this is discrimination of a large group in the VNL: Belgians that do not want to lose the link to their cultural background!
Belgian culture just is a fake construct. That's just the point of CreveRoeland. We, Flemish, have little in common with our Walloon neighbors. Also around Brussels there's a conflict with Francophones. Flanders doesn't always want to asociate with the Belgian identity. Many of us believe it hinders our true integration within our eRepublic. It ties us to a foreign culture.
If you accuse someone of discriminating, say at least he's discriminating the French culture only, not the Belgian. Only cartoon figures like Tintin and other fictive people like Hercule Poirot are in fact Belgian.
Too often is our identity being hijacked by theirs. Our cultural background is Flemish and Southern Dutch. In fact, we fight for the Walloon's right to their true French identity. They know deep in their heart that they're not Belgian. Hardly surprising, for most people calling themselves such are francophone. 😛
Like the majority of the Belgians, I feel BELGIAN above all and not Walloon. But for me, Belgian being, it's a way of live, a state of spirit. And however what will happen in the futur, that will never change.
I'm proud of cultural and linguistic richness of my country.
I am attached to the ground, but if it's to live with retrograde nationalists, build a wall around you, remain between You, with your own culture and your own language. I prefere to live alone than with bad company...
We live in the 21st century, a society of mixture of the cultures. But some people are already talking about nationalism and differences instead of speaking about what gathers us...
There are two kinds of belgicists. Those who are also proud of their regional identity and those who deny this very identity. Most of the time when there's fear at stake, people become stubborn and try to desperately lime the pieces together.
There's a Belgian-Flemish and Belgian-Walloon culture IMO. We hardly know anything about each other's cultures but differences have always made our relationship a very difficult one. I believe the linguistic differences will always retain these tensions.
Truth to be told, after living 179 years separated (actually +-400 because of the 80-year war and the Spanish occupation, ironics that eSpain failed this time lol) from the Netherlands, we have become very different from one another as well. We are far less practical than the Dutch for instance. A fusion would in practice bring problems like we see in Germany now between west and east. These problems will fade after decades; you always have hard times to deal with such unions. This is thanks to linguistic unity.
You will also have very hard times when Wallonia would join France. I think you Walloons are very opposed to that idea (far more so than Flemish) because France wouldn't aid you that much economically like Flanders is doing now.
Alright that you defend Belgian, but why deny your Walloon idenity? You feel Belgian above Walloon, but do you really don't feel Walloon at all?
And yes, there's also Brussels culture.
This is not about eReppublik that much. But it is interesting. I do think that in general you can see different cultures. And that you could say, hey French speaking part will join France, Flemish speaking part will join the Netherlands. But in reality it will make big problems. Even when speaking the same language, culture is different. Ask people who speak Serbian-Croation (or Serbian or Croation). And many people are from mixed marriages. And many people live in mixed communities. To settle this democratically will be near impossible. To settle this juridical it is doinhg it on old rules and borders. It would be easier to unite France, Belgium and the Netherlands, than to integrate parts of Belgium in France and the Netherlands. Be realistic do not want the impossible.
Romantic ideas seems nice, sadly they will bring you nowhere. I do believe improving cooperation and respecting different cultures is far better.
