Political Inbreeding and its Military baby

The Dropbears and ACUK such names in eaustralia resounds patriotism and the image of the elite service men and women of the eAustralian army, what you may not know is that the whole basis of these military units is, in itself a form of corrupt, social elitism.
The Dropbears are supposed to be the 36 strongest non-land locked players. 36 this seems odd doesn’t it? Just to put a number on how many elite soldiers there can be, the whole function of the cap was so that the people in power within military (notably the older players as with current game mechanics they are the most power-full and normally in positions of such), could then gain for themselves special funding for the use of pushing them further ahead than the rest of the population with the cap being there so they could be selective as to who they allow into the unit, therefore keeping specified funding to themselves. Now I AM NOT saying there should be no special forces, government funded tanks or what have you, what I am saying is stop blocking people who deserve to get in just because ‘there’s a cap’ that cap was put in place when there was like 500 hundred Australians, now there’s 3000 and the cap hasn’t changed to correspond with the population shift. For the love of god get rid of the cap.
The ACUK is even worse; the whole reason for the ACUK at the moment seems to be that power-full political figures could secure themselves a special place in the military as to acquire preferential treatment in terms of weapon handouts and such. Do mind that ACUK was supposed to be the Special Forces where the next 36 strongest soldiers could be placed, but then they added it that you could be land locked and still join the ACUK (where we just asking for corruption?).
These things must be dealt with, stop the slow decay of the Australian military machine, cleanse it of its incompetent rust.

it's a free country and everyone is entitled to their opinion, i guess.
I dont know if I totally agree with you on the dropbears bit. Dropbears dont get treatment outside of war. They only recieve weapons funding when they are ordered into a battlezone, and for good reason. Elite units need to be supplied the best equipment available. Its not elitism or anything of the sort, its just common sense to stockup a Field Marshall whos hitting 300 to 400+ damage in 1 hit.
I don't know about anyone else, or anything else, but the 36 number is not a result of some grand conspiracy.
I think you'll find it's because more than 4 or so squads of people becomes hard to manage at a "Platoon" level. Hence the reason real platoons in most IRL militaries have 3 to 4 sub-units (be they known as Squads or Sections). In such a sub-unit it gets difficult to administer more than 8 or 9 individuals (even if those individuals are experienced and self-managed to a degree)... hence the reason you'll also find most Squads or Sections in IRL militaries also gravitate around this number.
Can't and won't comment on the rest. 😛
*sigh* i could see this being anouther article of more comments then votes, damn it dont do it to me!
36 is a conspiracy you say. Your luck its not 37. http://www.eyeshot.net/371.html" target="_blank">http://www.eyeshot.net/371.html
agree. this happens all over eworld. political inbreeding.
oh yeah, and since the ADF act was passed last week the military structure is no longer limited to 36 DBs, The AMM/MoD/CiC can structure it however they see fit now.
that said during the war we had almost 50 DBs. We arn't that much of an elite bunch of people, just commit a lot of your wages to higher q weps and training and you'll be eligible in no time
@mark craft
hardly its just that both the drop bears admission number has allways been 36 i just think its wierd.
Interesting article .... maybe the "Awesome One" should investigate and report back to the people of Australia? ... Just a thought!
The man's been CP less than 24 hours.
The secret to winning battles is tanking. That's why there are elite units where members get preferential weapons supplies. Its how our enemies do it so why should we shackle ourselves in the name of idealism?
Honestly, this article made me LOL.
That 36 figure hasn't been used in months now, for at least the last two military Acts that have been passed. You may want to research that.
Anyone who can hit over 100 damage with a Q5 is accepted into ACUK (before yesterday), whether they be Landlocked or not. Some of our top hitters are Landlocked and they did an amazing amount of damage in the Brazil war. Btw, I always followed orders in all battles and wars. I have no idea who fed you the lie that I did not.
Since you seem to have actual Zero experience in Dropbears or ACUK, I wonder why you bother to make this rubbish up.
In the initial battle for WA there were very few from the military who fully tanked. I was wondering where the rest of the dropbears / koalas were.
Oh, and Dropbears also have not had a cap for quite a while and have accepted all that meet the criteria of over 150 damage with a Q5 (until yesterday when this was changed).
Ari, Koalas have never been given tank money. Those that do tank, fund themselves. 🙁
@Binda - 150? your kidding right..............That's not elite. That's pissweak.
150 it should be 250+ ...
Cozza makes a good point. There are alot more than 36 players that can hit 150 damage that arent landlocked.
The dropbears being "the top 36 strongest non-landlocked players" have been changed long ago (for a few months now). From what I remember, the ACUK and dropbear places have been widened for more players in the Military and Logistics Act (I may be wrong though).
Bummer, binda. In that case I should strike out the koalas from that.
Koalas are still worth being in till you have the levels for Dropbears Ari.
