Pockets Full of Cash, Not A Care in the World

Day 4,676, 11:52 Published in Ireland Ireland by KingWater

Fellow eCitizens,

I have recently decided to revive my eRep account, only to be reminded once again of the reasons why I had abandoned the game many years ago. If you would take a look at my profile, you will see that my account dates back to 2012, when I fell in love with the depth and the immersive experience of a game, which in essence, can be played in 5 minutes a day, up to hours and hours.
I am a 26-year-old adult, with two jobs and a family to take care of, and still I find myself postponing things and extending deadlines just to come and do a few more attacks and read a few more articles.
In my experience throughout the last week or so since I have decided to come back, there is still a lot to love about eRepublik for any of us to just give up on it, but the way the competitive soul of the game has been sucked out for gold packs and money, makes it almost impossible for a person like me, who does not necessarily have the financial means to regularly buy packs on this game, to improve, catch up or just enjoy the game on my own level.
I think exclusively tiered events could help, as well as more divisions in the war format, and at the end of the day, not only am I going to continue to log in and play the game, I have and will continue to ask my friends to come join, so that I at least have a few people who might soon catch up and be the same level as me, or at least at a competitive level, but truth be told, having such a huge gap to the top players and the top spenders, makes me feel truly powerless in this eWorld. A feeling that if I wanted to experience, I could easily do in my real life, as I know many of you may also relate.
I want to end by saying that this is in no way a criticism of those who spend a lot of money buying packs and improving massively and staying on top, kudos to them for taking it to the max, and also kudos to Plato and the eRep team for creating such a sustainable game, although it could be fixed and overhauled massively, and sometimes one wonders if there is ever a desire to do so in a meaningful way. I wrote this to do that mission which asks you to get 25 comments, so your comments are much much much appreciated, and I wouldn't mind a sub, and will always return one. Just leave a comment and I'll sub your newspaper.

All the Best,
