Please allow us to introduce ourselves...

Day 404, 14:21 Published in South Korea USA by Peregrine

One thing that is, I'm sure, painfully clear to all eKoreans is that we stand on a precipice. Infiltrators from Turkey, Iran, or other foreign interests can at a whim dispatch agents to usurp our Government. They may do this to prepare the country for invasion, or just to rob our national coffers blind.

An avid observer of South Korea would also notice our economy. Balanced on a single natural resource, and with one of the least valuable currencies in the world, we are without question a Banana Republik - one that starves thanks to competition within and without. Our largest companies are owned by foreign interests - interests with no mind for global economics and eyes only for the gold that they leech from our citizens and repatriate to their homes wherever they may be.

Perhaps you have a personal philosophy when it comes to government IRL. Perhaps you have one when it comes to economics. I want to say this to you right now, the rules just don't apply. Where in real life we celebrate differing opinions, and form political parties to make our differing opinions heard... Where our minds flourish in discourse and community organization... Where many hope to succeed in an information economy or through private business and entrepreneurship... All of these things are noble and good in real life, but within the confines of a web game such as eRep, they are a path to slavery.

Without unified politics, South Korea will fall to foreign interests.

Without unified economics, South Korea will become increasingly impoverished and starve.

Without a unified front, this young Nation cannot survive.

Here is what we propose.

The Party seeks to unify the politics of South Korea
Under the control of the party, the politics of South Korea will become stable. We cannot afford all the three party bickering that provides easy avenues of attack for our enemies.

We want to involve all citizens interested in the long term stability of South Korea to join us today. We seek nothing less than a successful long term system of economics and politics within South Korea - for the benefit of all South Koreans.

If there is something in this you just can't justify with yourself, you are welcome to stand opposed to us - or we will be happy to assist you in relocation. However, the political and economic plan proposed here by the Party is the only way to guarantee that our country remain protected and safe.

The Party seeks to unify the South Korean Economy
The history of eRepublik is clear on one issue above all others: Planned Economies work. They work in small countries, they work in large countries. The lesser the level of state control, the less successful the economy. This is why in a state like Korea, just as it is in Japan and the United States, poor planning breeds poor returns.

As the commanders of our own economy, Korea will be able to turn what is at present our greatest liability (our small size) into our greatest asset. We can move quickly, and directly. It is for this reason that The Party selected Korea, and has chosen to make our home here.

Under the Party, the economy will merge foreign and domestic resource allocation (exclusively under the ownership of the government or our citizens), domestic labor and taxation, and the companies - to create a behemoth singular entity. Through this level of control, we can ensure that all domestic needs are fulfilled and affordable - by locking both the wages as well as the cost of consumables.

By leveraging our wages (which, while low, will be guaranteed to be sufficient to support our workers) and our resource material allocation, we will create a massive opportunity to profit as a country from export. We will create a massive trade surplus in food and finished goods that we can invest in our own economy and in our citizens.

The profits of our economic plan will also be redistributed to our party members and citizens based on their participation in our economy as well as their involvement in our society.

The private ownership of Korean companies under this system is not possible, but there is a whole world out there where profits can be made - and The Party will ensure that you have every change to realize your own goals where it comes to financial success.

The Government will require managers of our domestic companies, as I can attest (currently I manage 10 companies by myself). If you own a domestic company and you are a permanent resident of Korea, you will be allowed to continue managing your company if you so desire - however if you wish to sell your company to the state that will be possible as well.

In Conclusion

My name is Father, and I am a Triumvir of The Party. The Party will surely succeed in Korea because we have the experience and the means to do so. We stand for Korean sovereignty above all things - and we will protect Korea through shrewd politics and economic knowledge.

We want only good things for Korea not limited to the wealth and welfare of our citizens but also our national security and economic security. We seek your support, and if you so choose your membership in our endeavor. We are friendly, and are helpful when asked.

Where we may seem limiting, or controlling, there is a deeper element that must be considered. We are not here to steal your country, but to administer it for your benefit. We have no intention of taking more than our fair share, and we will work hard to ensure that you have every opportunity to take yours as well.

We invite you to join us on irc.coldfront.net and to talk with us at any time either in the official ROK channel: #eROK or on the Party's channel: #TheParty

A Post Script on 1984

Many look at the iconography of The Party and no further. If you are familiar with the book or film 1984, then there is of course no question in your mind that The Party and its immortal leader "Big Brother" are heads of a dystopian society - corrupt - evil. That is a fair reading of the text, to be sure, but it is not a fair reading of The Party of eRepublik.

We are inspired by 1984, but do not seek to mimic them. We seek to bring a little humor to our daily experience, and a little society. We promote top down executive order, but we are not outside influence. If you have questions or concerns, put them to us and we will respond insofar as we are able. We are committed to the betterment of South Korea.

I will post again shortly to discuss the Party's candidacy for President of the Republik of Korea. Until that time, please vote and comment this article.
