The answer to Ep V was Charles V, who ruled of the Holy Roman Empire and Austria and who ruled Spain as Carlos I, and a member of the European dynastic family empire of the House of Hapsburg. Charles became King of Spain in 1516 and the Holy Roman Emperor in 1519 upon the death of his grandfather. Charles V is a major figurehead of the 16th century for actions taken during his reign such as the Italian Wars, internal religious struggles, and North American colonization.
