I thought about doing an economic article, but then remembered I don't really care about the economy at the moment. Country economies are basically dead anyway except for the players that aren't lucky enough to own companies yet.



Instead I'm going to address the Peninsular Malaysia situation. I'll be discussing the pro's and con's of PM's return to the country from an economic aspect as well as the military and political point of view.

Economic

Pros
-We'll get the two-clickers from PM back into the country, providing more workers
-We'll receive the bonus of oil again

Cons
-More consumers could result in shortages on the market
There really aren't any major cons from an economic point-of-view, unless you get more in-depth than I care too.

Overall, from an economic point-of-view, getting PM returned wouldn't be bad. In fact it would be extremely beneficial. We would have the bonus of oil which would help with production. Now that we have an MPP again, that extra 5% bonus would be very helpful.

Military

Pros
-The citizens in PM(read two-clickers) will be able to fight in eMY's wars
-In the case of a war, we'd have more territories before we were wiped, giving us a better chance of avoiding it

Cons
-More territories to defend
-Two-clickers in PM are likely to not follow orders

Overall, from the military aspect, I'd say it comes out slightly negative. The citizens of PM will shortly enjoy the same wars in eSG as they do in eMY, so that point is actually sort of dead and a real war is very unlikely(or at least should be *looks at new Co-MoDI) Whereas having eMalaysian two-clickers disobey orders and possibly sway a battle in one of the TW's would be bad media for eMY. So in the end, the two pros and one con don't really come into play and only the 2nd con really matters. Either way, the military aspect shouldn't be considered to much as eMY's chances of actually making a difference are relatively small.

Political

Pros
-Anyone got anything here?

Cons
-More congress seats

This is definitely the most important aspect, at least in my eyes. There may only be one con, but it has multiple difficulties associated with it. More congress seats means more blockers, that we don't have, are needed in every election. Especially considering that we have Sabah back, the number of blockers needed is pretty ridiculous. 54 players would need to run in order to fill every nomination in the parties for congress, as it stands now we need 36. More congress seats, means a higher chance of a PTOer getting into office which leaves more problems. Such as more PTOers being let in using the extra CS passes.

This is a problem that eMY has had time and time again. We simply cannot support the full amount of congressmen the game gives us. Many of the players currently in eMalaysia weren't around for the Serbian PTO, but months ago this is how it all got started. DON'T LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN, please.

Final Conclusion



If eSingapore wants PM as reparations then let them keep it. The economic pros do not outweigh the political con of having PM. If eSingapore wants to go through the effort of ATO every month then let them do it. They are more experienced at it than we are anyway.

This was gonna be way more in-depth, but it's freaking March Madness guys.
