PCP Update - Our Constitution

Day 355, 14:19 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Stan Wephen

Well, its been a long month, filled with conflict and suprise. Tim09 narrowly lost out to Dishmcds for Presidency - suprise. Most of the PCP went to Australia to fight in the FFF - conflict. But still, the People's Communist Party stays strong, and we've made remarkable progress in this last month.

Constitution

I can happily say that we have draft, edited, and written out Constitution at last. This Constitution will bring the PCP a reaffirmation of our identity, as well as help people understand what we stand for. So, without further ado, here it is:

Introduction

The "People's Communist Party" aims for equality for all citizens, regardless of status, race, gender, wealth or experience. This is the guiding principle in E-republik that we support and hold true.

We believe in supporting the less wealthy and powerful because the e-uk
can only be as strong as its weakest citizen

We believe in team work because collectively we can achieve more than one
individual alone

We believe that all e-uk citizens have a part to play and that e-uk
minorities make a substantial contribution to our country

Everyone should have a say in how this country is run

Together we can make the e-uk great

We believe in putting our principles into practice, in the way we work
together in our party, in the way we work together in congress and, with your help, in the way we work together with you in government

Stance on Economy

The People's Communist Party believes in stability in the economy. We believe the best way to achieve this is to maintain some control over it, both for the good of current company owners and the consumers themselves.

The best way to implement this is to co-operate fully with company owners to ensure 'fair practice' in the marketplace.

We believe in free enterprise and companies being allowed to run independently from the government. However, we also feel it is the government's duty when needed to prevent dishonest practise by GM's, including firing with reason and paying below living wages.

Government regulation should prevent the problem, not just cure it, and to that effect we will avert market failure with foresight, as opposed to having and then solving an economic crisis

Every worker should have the right to a fair wage.

Every citizen should have the right to buy fairly priced goods.

Every company manager should not obtain huge profits to the detriment of the public or employees, as we believe that every business has a responsibility for society.

Leadership and its roles

The PCP does not believe in a single leader, but rather a spokesperson, through whom the entire experience and collected knowledge of the PCP is expressed. When one votes for the PP for the country, one votes for the PCP as a whole as President.

The PCP chooses its leader not be an electoral vote but through a common consensus about who should be the next leader. The PCP believes competition weakens the PCP through division, rather than through unity.

The PCP leader is discussed and elected in the forum, and thus PCP members should aim to join the forum as soon as possible.

Stance on other left-wing parties

The PCP are willing to work with all other left-wing parties on policies that we share. We will not, however, change ourselves to better integrate with international communist groups - our priority is and always will be the eUK.

Furthermore, we will not influence other countries' General Elections. We believe citizens in those countries should decide their leader, not us and we therefore we have no right to influence the result of an election through direct or indirect attempts. The will of the people is all important.

We are willing to trade ideas and cooperate with other left wing parties without directly influencing their policies or elections

Conclusion

The People's Communist Party holds these ideas to be true and solid. We will not go against our constitution unless in times of extraordinary circumstance.

Let's make the eUK better. Together.

Houses for the Homeless

This great scheme, run by Ip Lockard, is now in full swing. If you are upgrading your house, and have no further need for your old on, donate it to someone who needs a house. Or, if you need a house, just go on http://forum.erepublik.co.uk/general-forum-f31/houses-for-the-homeless-t5656.htm, and sign on there.

Get to know the PCP member: Bob Boblo

Bob Boblo is one of the PCP veterans, and one of our prized literacy geniuses. He had served in congress for many months during and after the Presidency of KIA Sneak, and has consistently written tongue-in-cheek articles prodding fingers at certain elements within the eUK society. He is nevertheless a passionate fighter and believer in what is right. Bob Boblo is, as always, open to PMs from newer members in the PCP, so feel free to ask him about the PCP.

Join the forums!

The People's Communist Party still wants YOU to join the forum and help us on our quest to better the eUK. It doesn't matter about your political experience, or indeed, any experience whatsoever. We want to hear what you have to say, and the best way to do that is to come onto www.erepublik.co.uk, click on the forum link at the top and sign up for the People's Communist Party forum under the Party forum section.

Why should you join the PCP if you haven't already

Because we continue to be the most dedicated to the eUK, and to our members. We welcome everyone, regardless of previous experience. We stand for equality, and will continue to stand against elitism, because the eUK is for all, not for a few. Join us, and let's make the eUK better, together.
