~~~~~~~ How I feel in eRepublik ~~~~~~~
I've been here for a while, a little over 2 years, through at least half of the highs and lows of this game. I've seen people come and go and the game evolve over time either through admin interference or thanks to influential players. Today is no different.
I'm going to offer a new perspective on this game which is not often expressed by many people around me, they're either hiding from the truth or they've not been introduced to it.
I've friended a lot of people in the past week, met some new bloods and hopefully the people who will rule this nation while we're all kicking it in retirement and I have something to say to the people who reside on my friends list to this day, from greater times who persist in their ineptitude, go away.
Some of you might feel insulted by this, don't be. I'm likely not talking to you if you're reading this article and caring. I'm talking about the people who check in every once in a while to complain about this game, the eRepublik hipsters. The lifeless souls who inhabit our earth only having purpose in complaining about a game, die.
Now is the time to strike life into this game, more than ever. The people are flooding in, the oppurtunity is lost by nearly everyone, every day to make a difference.
How is it I was able to increase the Libertarian Party membership by 100 over the course of 5 days? Some said it was impossible.
I cheated! I must have!
Easy. I cared.
I've helped them complete their first day, I've helped them join your armies and your militias, I've helped them understand how the game is played, how money is earned and the delicate intricacies of maintaining their land. I also took the time to foster two seperate communities in IRC and our forums.
I've created a party from the rotten carcus of something I once perceived as great, only to learn that the party and people that I had previously admired had deep flaws. I've studied their mistakes and I'm working to craft something new, this general player apathy can not persist.
The money sucks, I get it. They're trying to milk every ounce of real currency from our digitally operated plastic wallets, I know.
If that makes you want to quit then get on with it, it isn't changing in the forseeable future. I'm not surprised when they ruin something old or new, I feel no emotion when they delete your rage quit article complaining about how virtual life is unfair. I'm tired of listening to it, and if you shout or write an article about it I will ignore you henceforth. You're a loser, a crybaby and we need less of you.
Me? I'm about to explode all over this game. I'm going to make many of you mad and I'm going to give you a run for your money, because that's how I roll, get used to it.
Every once in a while a person realizes it's time to follow up their stated intentions, with action, or give up. This is one of those times.
I guess what I'm saying is this: Let's get a move on. Let's play this game at light speed, an awesome drug known as "winning" powering our every thought and action.
To every player without a purpose,
To every subject who's leaders have failed them,
To every apathetic soul who has tricked themselves into believing the attitude of those around them who have masqueraded it as truth
I invite you to join me. Things will not be the same under my watch. We're going to win this game, finally.
