Operation Distant Armour
William Duncan
Good evening my fellow citizens,
During the first midnight hours of this Remembrance day I made the decision to send our expeditionary forces, the Rangers, to Malaysia as part of Operation Distant Armour.
The Rangers will be remaining in Malaysia for the time being, standing by our friends there, and fighting beside them should Indonesia grow the nerve to attack.
Why send the Rangers? Why not use the MPP, and keep them home?
MPPs are only activated if an original territory is attacked. Malaysia and Thailand merged peacefully into a single country some time ago, and Indonesia has the option to attack or RW the Thai regions of Malaysia, which would not trigger MPPs; furthermore, had Indonesia launched its offensive before the MPP was signed, Canadians would not have been able to participate in the first major battles.
In short, I wasn't about the let another Slovakia go down. We are committed to Malaysia's defense, as is much of the rest of the World, and the Rangers deployment is part of that commitment.
Having the Rangers in Malaysia, fully armed and prepared for that conflict also leaves our CAF Mobile Forces free to continue working in conjunction with our Allies on missions, and accomplishing our other strategic military objectives.
I ask all eCanadians to stand by our soldiers now in Malaysia
Homesickness can and does sink in, even in the New World (I remember well missing eCanada when I served in the CAF on those long missions). The unfamiliar articles, ads and flags serve only to remind soldiers that they are no longer in their home country.
I therefore ask Canadian Citizens to include a poppy somewhere in their avatars as a symbol of our appreciation of the Rangers, and also as a tribute to all of our Armed Forces who sacrifice so much time and effort to keep eCanada Strong and Free.

Opération Distant Armour
Bon soir mes chers citoyens,

blurgh. no vote.
A vote for a very nicely written article. I wish the Rangers well.
Just to clarify, this is part that I object to: I therefore ask Canadian Citizens to include a poppy somewhere in their avatars as a symbol of our appreciation of the Rangers, and also as a tribute to all of our Armed Forces who sacrifice so much time and effort to keep eCanada Strong and Free.
Come on people. Can we spell inappropriate?
On the button Kelly!
LETS GO RANGERS! I only wish I could be there to help. I thought about resigning Congress. I'm proud!
Southern thailand is on LETS GO RANGERS! LET HIT THEM! LET HIT THEM HARD
Oh yes, we are hitting them hard ... more to come ... this is gonna be an epic battle
@Kelly and Neil: Our troops who keep Canada free and strong? Come on people, don't be fucking delusional. We're in Afghanistan for cryin' out loud, it's not like we're liberating Toronto from the damned Nazis. We're attempting to force a democratic system of governance down the throat of a bunch of people who care not for democracy. Oh, and we're stationed in a country where a large part of the population there doesn't even want us. So uhhh, don't get all uppity over the use of a symbol.
If WD wants to co-op the Poppy as a symbol for friendship with eMalaysia, I see nothing wrong with it.
Oh, and this is going to be an epic battle. Indo has no idea what they have unleashed.
o7 rangers,

Approve, Vote.
Its very tacky to use the poppy.
And for the jackass comment about our troops.. whether you believe in the validity of their mission or not Canadian Soldiers have given their lives and on the one day of the year where we pay our respects to the fallen how about you pretend to have some class and shut your pie hole
@pandora: so soldiers are fighting for our freedom, yet we shouldn't be allowed to exercise that freedom 1 day of the year?
what freedom do you want to exercise there salty?
