Open Letter to New Congressmen

The Reality Czech
Jan Khysl (26 Dec. 200😎

First, allow me to congratulate you on winning your seat or keeping it, depending on the case. I believe it is obvious to all who looked at the results that this is not so much a "race" as much as a monthly ritual of the appointment of congressmen. We are a small country though and this is forgivable and you may enjoy your victory regardless.

The one thing I have found haunting in all the political races I have witnessed, is a lack of direction. It seems to me that no matter who is elected or of which party, it makes little difference. Maybe there is no grand difference from the United Slavs party from the Czech Right Union or maybe the Czech Party for Change's platform isn't all that different from the Ceska Socialistika Strana's. But regardless, there has to be a difference of opinion between individuals.

Thusly, I call upon all newly elected congressmen to tell us your political and economic beliefs. Do we believe tariffs should be lowered in the hopes of a laissez faire state? Do you think the Czech Republic should seek out alliances in the growing storm in our world? Should the government spend CZK building defense projects and hospitals if we are to push a stance of neutrality? All of these are questions we should be asking, debating, answering.

Of course, these are only the start of a tirade of questions that need to be answered. I don't ask for much, only a monthly posting of ideas for the future. If you decide to post your ideas and stances, don't just do it this once. There are those of us who will want to know time and time again. The circumstances of our world always change and so too should our plans forward.

So, tell us congressmen: what do you want to do with your month in office?
