Join the new world

Today celebrates my one month after my return to eRupublik after a long hiatus!

Being bored in the school holidays, although a prevalent disease, is curable. And perhaps one of the most effective methods is this, eRepublik, especially during a new tournament. I jumped back in, reviving my newspaper and re-joining my party. I had not played since the infamous Indo-Albania war, and wanted to see new things and rise to meet my player name.

I think I am getting there. The first weeks were challenging, adapting to new game mechs, old players who I used to be senior to, now higher up in the ranks. But as I said, I think I am coping.

I do not want to seem a prat, but I think my game play has been coming along nicely.

-My newspaper grew from 15 to 47 subscribers
-I am now the Secretary General of the CPI
-I have risen up to the rank of Field Marshal**, from General*
-My game/activity and awareness has grown tenfold

I am proud of these achievements. Managing to balance eRep with the Real World with its school and sport and complex social scheme (far more difficult to master) has been tough but enjoyable.

But tomorrow there will be a new congress in our sacred halls. I realise the congress is merely ceremonial, and that its members hold very little to no power at all.

However I would like to encourage you to vote actively in the coming elections. Despite the saddening power of our benevolent Dictator, the congress still (next to the cabinet) should consist of active players who wish to do some good. It should NOT just be a once a month gold hit up, nor a way of getting another shiny trophy on your profile.

It should be a way of helping further develop our eNation. Through economics, defence, and education congress members should endeavour to improve the wellbeing of the populace and health of the country.

Or at least that is my goal.

Being in a different timezone to most of you, should I get elected, I will try to maintain a healthy flow of informative and educational articles through this paper. I believe it is crucial to maintain an active media module in game. At the forefront of my policies, both real world and electronic, revolve around the society and sociographics.

My thinking, from the readings I have done and personal experience are decidedly left-wing. I believe in free speech, public discussion and equal rights for all. Now these can't be implemented in eRep for obvious reasons, however a strain of the above can, in a 4 point plan as follows

-To promote healthy political/economic/educational discussion in the media, where any member of the public can participate
-Have a consultative government which relays the opinions of the populace
-Have an active social module (media, chats etc.) to promote in-game bonds and develop a core for the players
-Maintain the current batch of new players and over see their growth, whilst allowing immigration and new player arrival to bloom

As you can see, most of my ideas/policies for eIndian future are largely domestic. This is a reflection of both my own personal beliefs and my current posting in government.

Like I have said before, the Congress does not have direct role in government, but I encourage everyone to take part and be active politically speaking. Every player over 13lvl should be in political party, and not just for looks.

The depth and interactivity of this game relies on its people, and I wish to over see an in game social revolution. The political and media modules, as I have said time and time again, have so much potential; but our populace is yet to exploit them.

In the first stage of this Social Upheaval, I am changing my profile picture to one of my role models --> Ernesto "Che" Guevara. He is a controversial figure, but he epitomizes to me the key features of a good person:

-Empathic
-Egalitarian
-Honourable
-Bravery

I hope to reflect these qualities throughout both the "e" and real worlds, sparking a change to last generations to come.
