On Rogues or Revolutionaries, Forum Decorum and Taxe$, Oh My!

Day 1,575, 14:42 Published in USA USA by eUSA Congress

Oh, yes! We’ve surpassed the mid-term mark and with less than 2 weeks remaining until the next Congressional election, it seems like a good time for a review. Don’t you think? Yes? Fantastic, I’m glad we agree!

Starting off with a bang and a whimper
At the start of the 51st term, 57 members signed in for Congressional board access at eusaforums.com . Congressman Lysander Spooner II (USMJ) wasted no time in voicing his sharp critique on forum etiquette or intense lack thereof, his positions on Congressional involvement with foreign policy and detailing his views on proper and improper use of in-game means of communication. Meanwhile, freshman Congressman Karron Vaine (USWP) got a little carried away with his new-found citizenship approvals his first day in office, prompting a temporary suspension of forum access and subsequent investigation. Karron responded to my inquiry satisfactorily and his explanation was verified with IES Director, Firo Prochainezo. Vaine’s Party President, the IES Director and I found his actions to be erroneous and without malicious intent. His forum privileges were restored conditionally and no further action has been taken against him.

Another Rogue on the loose
Once again this term we have a select few who elect not to sign in or participate in Congress forum discussions. DCbg is one such example. After a rash of ’unfriendly’ citizenship approvals and a rogue impeachment proposal, several citizens and Congressmen called for the censure of DCbg - STOP! Congressional candidates and Party Presidents, take note: Improper Impeachment proposals warrant automatic suspension of Congress forum privileges. (see Title 3 Oversight and Public Disclosure, 3.32: Penalties for improper procedure) Forum privileges of the offender shall not be restored without a passing proposal and vote @forums. - DCbg continued to use his remaining citizenship approvals, tank for ONE and finished the week with another rogue Impeachment proposal.
Censured from Congress and discharged from The Special Forces, all in a day’s work. What a letdown.

Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes
Speaking of citizenship requests & approvals and the IES (Immigration Enforcement Subcommittee), Congress began this term with a fresh face in the Director’s seat. Firo Prochainezo quickly assembled a severely underpaid and overworked staff of salad bar cheater-spotters and went directly to the task of revitalizing the system. Judging from increased documentation by active Congress members and overall traffic in IES, the revision appears to be an improvement. Of course, history affirms no change is ever made without some protest or misunderstandings. Unfortunately, one freshman member, Slyk Willy (USMJ), resigned early into his first term, seemingly out of frustration, impatience and/or lacking full understanding of the recent turnover in IES.

! Notice: If you are considering a temporary change in citizenship or are already on the wait list - please be aware, remaining approvals are limited. You may pass IES review but that does not guarantee a Congress member’s immediate approval. If you have applied for citizenship in the US, be sure to also complete the Citizenship Application Form, rizon users can stop by #IES with questions.

Onward, to Budget matters ...or maybe not.
Discussion and proposal started, stalled and continues to limp along. President Oblige has requested Congress delay moving forward with the budget proposal pending final results of an audit and shifts in OMS membership. This Speaker doesn’t think the President needs to worry too terribly much about Congress taking hasty action. The previous term’s budget will remain in effect until a new one passes. A monthly budget must be passed even if no changes are made. Additionally, according to the US Constitution and Code “If a budget is not passed by the 20th of the month, the SOH may, at his or her discretion, suspend votes on other legislation until a budget is voted and approved.” Mark your calendars!

TAXES. Oh, ffs!
If you think ffs means food fights, you’re dead wrong. And if you enjoy a good trainwreck as much as I do, hurry on over to Public Congressional Proceedings and have a good rubbernecking session, ffs. If there is ever any question why advisers from the Economic Council are given some clearance in economic-related proceedings, please go review the current tax topics and put those questions to rest. ._. All joking aside, I do appreciate members who take initiative but appreciate more members who exercise good sense and think before starting frivolous threads and further cluttering debate. Voters, ta😜ayers and tax beneficiaries might also appreciate the consideration. Ever an optimist, I remain disillusioned hopeful that agreeable tax proposals will progress to votes in the not-too-distant future.

Note to Self:

Let's all hope for better news out of Congress during the upcoming week.
Reminder: Party President elections are days away, vote wisely!

Keep smiling,
rainy sunday
