On Nordic Friendship!
Styvfar
Before continuing I would like to offer my take on what went down the fatal day of the first eSwedish NE-vote against eRussia.
I myself noticed the NE vote, initiated by the toll Grubb, some 15 minutes after its initiation when I was browsing the game on my phone. Unfortunately, I somehow got the impression that the first NE-vote was initiated by the eRussinans – so I casted a “yes”-vote to our proposal (our proposal was 6-1 in favor of NE at the time). It was not until about an hour later that I discovered my error. There was much discussion in the congress IRC-channel on how to salvage the whole situation, as the vote had been initiated by a renegade troll with the only intent to harm eSweden by blocking a possible eSwedish NE-vote against an impending eIrish threat. We had no wishes whatsoever to engage in hostilities with eRussia, and we hoped that by clearly vote no to the NE against eRussia, we would prove this to the eRussians. Thus we started to send PMs to our congress members urging them not to vote eRussia as NE. As the only member of the government present at the time I also sent the eRussian president the following message:
Mr President of eRussia
I wish to inform you that the NE vote on your country was initiated by a renegade troll (Grubb) who has sadly made it into our congress. We have no intention to wage war against you and we have started to send alert messages to our congress members encouraging them not to vote eRussia as NE. So, I wish to express eSwedens sincerest apologies for this unnecessary event, and I hope that we can resolve the situation peacefully.
Best Regards
Styvfar, Minister of Finance, Sweden, speaking on behalf of the eSwedish government
Unfortunately out efforts were in vain. We did manage to decisively stop our own NE-vote, but this was ignored by the eRussians who used the situation to launch an invasion. The eRussian president did not even bother to reply to our PM. It soon also became apparent that the eNorwegian president had given his blessing to this invasion. The eNorwegian president could have vetoed the invasion in accordance with an agreement between eNorway and eRussia… This is where we are today.
Despite this, not all eSwedish-eNorwegian relationships are this cold. The eNorwegian MoFA Per Jostein did publicly state that he was against the invasion and that he had had very fruitful and friendly communications with our then MoFA Jegarmister…
The thing is that if you ignore the great alliances for a moment, the Nordic countries – eNorway, eDenmark, eSweden and eFinland – have quite a lot in common. We (obviously) have geographical proximity, speak similar languages (well, apart from eFinland…) and have joint cultural heritages. On a fundamental level these are great foundations for cooperation and connection.
Thus, it is unfortunate that we have come to join different alliances, and that these alliances are so global that relatively small countries as us have become nothing but pawns on the checkerboard – at the mercy of the will of others. From an eSwedish perspective at least, both eNorway and eFinland are looking an awful lot like eRussian puppets, running eRussia’s errands at eRussia’s command. And from eNorways perspective I reckon that they view eSweden as bullies, backed by their newly found alliance ONE.
But if we ask ourselves seriously: Do countries like eSweden and eSerbia really have something in common, or have we just come to be allies because of past conveniences? Do Norway and Finland really befriend eRussia, or have they just bent to their power in fear of worse things?
I ultimately believe that despite our differences, the Nordic countries should work together to safeguard our joint interests. We do not necessary need to be allies, just develop a mutual respect for each other. The first obvious step would to form a joint Non-Aggression Pact to ensure that despite being in different alliances, we will not actively fight against one another, or actively allow enemies to attack Nordic original regions. Apart from this we would still be free to aid our alliances.
I believe it is time to bury the hatchet. eSweden supported PTO in eNorway, and eNorway actively allowed eRussia to invade eSweden. eFinland aided eRussia in wiping eSweden from the map, but did allow us to safely get a full congress. Are we even? I don’t know. I don’t care. We are all in the position to cause each other great harm, but doing so will only feed us new problems that, in the long run, will benefit nobody but ill-willing eRussians and eSerbs.

I like the people of the Nordic countries, but I don't really wan't to be allied with them, as long as we're not in the same alliances. And no, a Nordic alliance is in no way a option, since we would all get assf*cked.
Everything is good right now, as long as we learn not to trust each other. That's when things go to hell. (Danish PTO, Norgwegian PTO, Sweden getting wiped two times)

Kan inte annat än hålla med om det Valnad säger förövrigt.
Do you consider yourself a puppet of ONE, Serbia or Poland?
I think, no.
Then why do you accuse Norway & Finland of being puppets? Because they are just acting for their own benefit and this goes against your plans? But it was you who left EDEN and broke the Scandinavian alliance. But your neighbours didn't follow you. You wanted to be a puppeteer for them and they refused. That is the reason for such articles.
@nimnul:
Ofcourse we are puppets of ONE in certain aspects. But in my opinion we would never sell out our Nordic neighbors to e.g. Poland. What we did to Norway, allowing Serbian PTO was really shameful. 🙁
eRussia obviously have no interest in a more unified Nordic region, so you happily contribute to wrecking Swedish-Norwegian relations, so that you can get your oil and aluminum... If eNorway came to their senses they'd understand that they are not acting as much in their own interests as in eRussias. At least from a long term perspective.
As for us leaving EDEN, I was not around (active) when it occures, so I cannot really account for those events. But from what I have been told, EDEN had serious flaws which made it extremly difficult to stay. We also had good bonds with ePoland.
We certainly have not treated our neighbors with the respect they deserve. But I urge for this to change, because of the actual bonds we have.
