On Being a Blocker

I put myself forwards to be a blocker for this election. I'd like to publically apoligise to Kiwi Kontrol for being a complete dick about it as well.

However, too many of our blockers appear to have decided to vote for themselves today. I conisdered doing it. After all, I might get lucky and blag myself a congress seat... in a month where literally every vote counts these acts of multiple onanism have cost us dear.

Count the number of blockers with one vote this month, put two and two together and I see a community that is destined to be snuffed out this month bar some heavyweight help from abroad.

As sad as it makes me, I feel that we have failed ourselves today. We have failed to put our coumminity ahead of our own self interest.

I suppose it is time to learn serbian and cyril's althabet 🙁

I'm an "official" candidate and didn't vote for myself. Hold off from voting as long as you can - preferably after the Serbs are tucked into their wee little beds dreaming of New Zealand gold.

I would not assume that just because someone got a vote, they voted for themselves.

I have two votes right now, and I don't know where they came from, because I haven't voted yet.

I'll wait until just before the midnight server time deadline to vote, but I fear it is a lost cause at this point.

Serbian is by far too complicated to be learnt in little time. But you could learn Cyrillic phonetic script if you wished. That shouldn't take you more than one day to learn. And that script can easily be applied to English language, although using it you would write words differently in British English, Aussie English, US English and, probably, NZ English (I don't know what does NZ English sound like, I suppose it is similar to Australian English).

We might be able to pull if off IF the Serbs would just go to sleep. It's 1 a.m. in Belgrade, time for all little PTOers to be in their beds.
