Ohio Congressional Delegation: 28 March 2010
Abayarde
Greetings Ohio, and Nation! It's time again to let you know what Congressman Abayarde has been up to in congress. Well, here's the meat of what you're getting for your vote:
IN-GAME PROPOSALS:
1) Tax change, Iron: No link to visibility for the American public...
2 & 3) Both wasted proposals from a senator, donation to a random Org and impeachment of the prez.
4 & 6) Issue money and donate to CBO:
5) Change in citizen fee, another wasted proposal from a senator with no debate
ACTIVITY IN THE HALLS OF CONGRESS
1) CAMPAIGN PROMISE FULFILLED. The discussion to ban Pizza the Hut from the congress forums has been through the proposal and voting process, and looks to have passed handily. Rest safely America, PTO forces and other sketchy individuals WILL NOT be allowed access to our sensitive information on Abayarde's watch.
2) Let me start by saying this: I love militias. I think what you guys do is fantastic, it's useful, it's necessary to keep the citizenry active, involved, and pointed in the right direction. There currently exists an office in the Executive branch of government called the Office of Militia Support. The job of this office is to secure and provide funding for militias meeting certain requirements. Under the current system, a council is made up of members of the different member militias to determine how the 70g/week will be split between them, as well as to make decisions on which militias meet the requirements to be a part of the program. The Office seems to be doing an outstanding job of this thusfar.
The problem that I currently see, however, is that not only is there little to no accountability to congress (who, of course, provides OMS with their funds), some OMS individuals are die hard set against any means of accountability being installed. Instead, these individuals believe that congress, the JCS, and the country as a whole should accept their word that everything is fine, and that those groups should have no control over or say in OMS business. The author of this article would mention that a virtual "Pro-Militia PTO" of Congress was suggested at one point in the discussions, a disturbing frame of mind for an office director to possess.
I am fighting for you, America, and I will keep on this like a rabid pitbull until OMS is held accountable for YOUR tax money being given to organizations with no dialogue. Congressman Abayarde's position is simply that every week or two, the militias being funded should post on the eus forums simply keeping congress abreast of how things are going in their militia. I'm not talking a line-by-line accounting of the budget, but more the sort of phone call you make to your grandparents after they send you a birthday card with a check in it: "Retention is good, we're recruiting and opening a new platoon, companies are solvent, morale is high!" Personally, I don't think that's too much to ask. The infrastructure is currently in place, but consists of two posts...one from an OMS office member stating that the money is used for companies and 5g is kept 'in reserve'. The second post is simply a quote of the first, and the author of these quotes asked me to quote that first post "every Sunday" because he "might forget."
In no was is this an appropriate response, especially when questioned on the 5 gold 'in reserve' by another congressman, the response was "it is kept." YOU deserve better than this, America, and rest assured that I am moving to the next level to help solve this problem for you. I look forward to telling you shortly that I have a new proposal to ensure that everyone is on board!
3) EDEN: It is no secret that the eUS is considering a departure from EDEN, and I wish I could divulge some of the information contained in the congress board regarding this decision, but alas that is priveleged information. Just as a quick and dirty there is a faction of individuals who would like to delay the vote until having "all the information." Personally, I see this as a political play to be the the one who "KEPT THE US IN EDEN!" I will say that the congressional process is working on this issue, and we hope to have a real answer on what's happening real soon.
Here is an OUTSTANDING comparison of the various options the eUS has at it's feet to deal with the EDEN issue presented by the CJCS, General NXNW. I urge you to vote and subscribe this article

Funny, coming from the man who PTO'd Ohio.
Guy with no congressional forum access says what?
Thank you for the information &m kind mention. V+S
For the record, everytime OMS official was referred to, it meant me.
How bout this:
I'm sorry I expected no more outta the militias then I received from the military.
I am sorry I feel congress has no business in another branch's office
I am sorry that I felt keeping 5G was self explanatory (if you has $10, and you spent some and kept %4, I wouldn't think to ask where the $4 is)
I'm sorry I made a joke in the IRC to emphasize the uselessness of the thread that I was asked to set up.
and again, this is me. I am acting as myself, and not a representative of the OMS-related militias.
"some OMS individuals are die hard set against any means of accountability being installed"
1) there is 1 OMS person.
2) I am fine with accountability. I will ask the militias to match any accountability with that of the JCS. At the next council meeting, i will inform them that they can offer any reports they want to me, and I will in turn present them to congress. I will not force any of them to do it though.
3)So far, I have given you a list of exactly where funding goes.
"The author of this article would mention that a virtual "Pro-Militia PTO" of Congress"
1) I said alot of senators are pro militia. to call it a PTO, then i suppose any senator in support of high imports is a populist PTO, right? cause if so, and I could have Rodman help block them, it would make me happier 🙂
"YOU deserve better than this, America"
1) I told you in the IRC, any weekly report i made would basically be a copy of that one post I made in the debate thread. You apparently didn't care as you kept pushing for it. So I gave in and did made it, and it was exactly how I said it would be. Don't act like I lied or was underhanded. I did exactly as I told you I would do, and what you pushed for me to do. If America deserves better than that, why are you pushing for it?
I see a couple of jokers got through the net again.
Thanks for keeping us informed.
Thanks for the info I wished more congressmen did this
<O Wonderful article sir, keep up the great informational work!

You are the guy who responded and threw me out of the Training Corps for questioning how the TC spent their gold and now you are telling the citizen Ohio you are openness. You remind me of a Batman character.
The TC gets 100 gold a week. Do the math on how far that goes in terms of Q1 weapons, and you'll see we can barely fund our officers alone on that budget, but we still manage to equip the satisfactory troops, which of course excludes yourself. TC companies run at a profit of approximately 0, like most other military companies, and serve to provide a place for TC individuals to get a decent wage and still have the flexibility to be fired in order to deploy. Simple as that, and NXNW has offered to give such reports to congress on a biweekly basis, and I'm fine doing it as well.
I have yet to see anything more than what I have given congress in a report from the JCS.
Well, let's see, that is 1,876.173 weapons per week. Let us assume a trooper fights 5 times a day, seven days a week. Divide the 1,876.173 by 7 days and that is 268.173 weapons per day. Divide 268.173 by 5 weapons per trooper per day and that is 53.605 troopers that you may arm every day.
So if you're barely able to fund your Officer, that would mean you have 53 Officers. My next question is how many troopers are in the Training Corp? How many NCO's and enlisted personal get jack squat for jumping through your hoops like a trained seal?

There are 47 Officers in the training corps iirc, all of which are neded to run things effectivly:
18 Platoon XO's
18 Platoon CO's
4 Captains (Company CO's)
2 Major's (Division XO's)
3 Colonels (Divisions CO's, Inspector General)

Assuming that your math on the budget is correct, That leaves us able to supply the officers plus 6 troops with weapons, which does not consider MT's for deployments. We mange to Supply 50 Troops (Often More) Plus officers, with bot MT's and Weapons. There are somewhere around 200 troops in the TC Reserve division the last time I checked. that means we supply 25+% Of the troops with weapons, and often MT's, which by your own math is practically double where 100 gold leaves us. Yes 75% of the people go without supplies, but frankly we do the best we can, and those weapons go to the most active members of the TC, who we know will follow orders, and use them effectively. From what I read in your article and its comments, you never got weapons, because instead of being active in the TC, you sat around and did noting for 2+ Months.
Tl;dr version: WE use our money the best we can, and if you didnt get weapons, its because you weren't and didnt stand out.
P.S. By my math, i joined the TC after you, and I'm now an Officer. That's he difference that activity makes.
