OFFICIAL STATEMENT: UKRP Party President
Marcus Antonius Varias
Hello Everyone,
We are now into the early morning of eUK, just over 6 hours after the election results. In what turned out to be a surprising victory for most, I managed to gain the position with a 20 vote lead over the second place candidate.
I'm glad to say as well that from the vast amounts of people that have been contacting me, the majority have been kind words of congratulations and I thank you all for that. Others have rightfully put me under the spotlight and questioned me a-la Paxman, and I thank you too for that, for keeping me on my toes and making sure I'm accounted for.
Of course, there have been some rumours being spread, which, some I have had to attempt to intervene on if I felt them quite insulting or damaging, but most have been quite fun, and have enjoyed reading these great testaments to British satire and dry humour.
Many people are wondering what I'm going to be doing with the UKRP. Well, that has been drafted up and I am currently consulting with experienced members to finalise what we will be doing. However, I'm not foolish, and so the UKRP will not be publishing party documents and strategy to the general public. They are internal documents and will be treated as such - they will be reserved for behind the doors of the forum.
As for policy making, I am not a policy maker, I do not influence government voting per se, as I was not elected by the people of eUK to represent them. I'd prefer not to be sticking my hands in congressional work; where they shouldn't be.
My work is to lead, inspire and steer the party. I'm going to make numerous changes to the operation of the party, but this will not be released, or at least not yet. A corporation would never release it's change in management structure, future investments, new technology design schematics and its strategy to another corporation, I intend to do the same here.
I understand there is concern over my lack of experience (and also knowing too much at the same time?!?!?!) but my party has decided that this is not an issue for them in the elections, and have been satisfied with my activity within the party. I can only now promise to serve them as well as I can.
Please mail me any questions, queries on interviews, worries, or congratulations. I'll read through them all and make sure I reply.
Marc Antony PP
N.B. I'd been made aware while writing this article of another article published by a party member who has explicitly stated his dislike of me. Although attempting to be candid, everything said via the eRep. mail system by me is not confidential, so have no issues with it being published, though I personally do prefer to act on discretion and behave like a gentleman when I can. I think the British system of fair play comes to mind. Above that, despite what was said, he had suggested I actually allow another candidate to run the party behind the scenes, another candidate who was not elected. This was an insult to democracy an will not nor never be a part of such actions. This man is someone I wish to have little traffic with if he continues to undermine the party he is a member of. And finally, I wish to remind all candidates that party forum activity is sensitive party information.

Congratulations to you, your plans sound exciting, and I look forward to seeing them! 🙂
You know my question - well the question of 99% of the Party. Voted
I suggested you ask another experienced member or several members to assist you in running the UKRP. I will not attempt to hide my annoyance at the very fact you do have a lack of experience. Three days is not long enough to realise how things work. "I suggest you either let one of the other candidates (Stefan or Arthur) guide you behind-the-scenes" so don't try to twist my words with malicious intent. I was simply trying to offer you assistance.
"However, I'm not foolish, and so the UKRP will not be publishing party documents and strategy to the general public. They are internal documents and will be treated as such - they will be reserved for behind the doors of the forum."
A PP is not a manager. He helps in manifestos, mentors new people and steers the parties policies. He doesn't simply run things behind the scenes. Voting in HoL nominations is part of your roles as well.
Seems we were right when we said you don't know enough about the role. You need to play a role in the politics of the eUK.
Good Luck Marcus.
Ryan, an elected official being a puppet is a breach of democracy, no matter how you look at it. I meant those words with sincerity. Why you didn't run instead of just moaning and doing no favours for the success of the UKRP is beyond me.
As the only candidate who really stood out you were the obvious choice to vote for.
Good luck.
