Nys shows he's not old yet

Nys took the win in Niel this year. He completed a half-hour one man show

This race isn't important for any trophy, so it was possible that the "big men" didn't go in top gear, with Hamme-Zogge (superprestige) coming up this sunday.

And so the race began, with the German Meisen and Frenchman Boulo taking some distance on a large peloton. But when some riders tried to close the gap, Albert had a flat tire. Luckily for him, he managed to stay in the group. Nys' team mate Vanthourenhout was one of the chasers and with this situation, Nys attacked. He immediatly closed the gap and quickly got in the front of the race. Only Boulo kept up with him, who would eventually end fourth.

The others accelerated, but Nys was way in front. Albert and Pauwels tried to close the gap. Albert left Pauwels behind and came much closer. Nys raced with his mind and let Albert take back some seconds, but he kept his lead big enough to accomplish a comfortable win. Pauwels finished third.
