November elections

Day 737, 04:22 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by Libertarian Party Organisation

Dear friends,

What I week we've had at the Libertarian Party! On monday we were still the 6th party of the eBenelux and now, three days later, we managed to secure two seats in our national congress. As a result of us getting more members, GVD is now outside the top 5 and wasn't allowed to partake in the elections. We all know that this particular part of game mechanics is not ideal, but it is how it is and at least it keeps everyone sharp and alert. GVD has shown themselves as good sports and congratulated us, and we're sure the battle for the 5th place is not yet over.

For now we're looking very much forward to our first term in congress and we hope we can make a positive contribution to this month's debates and discussions.

Apart from our own success, there was also a major achievement for Iron & Wine: they went from 7 seats to 13, a staggering 6 seat win, making them the biggest party in the eUNL. We wish to congratulate Iron & Wine with this huge success and we're confident they'll make the right choices when forming this month's government.

For the Libertarian Social Democrats these elections were overshadowed by the loss of their leader Cocoamok. This is not just a big loss for LSD, but for the whole country, as we lose a very experienced and skilled politician. However, LSD is/was not just Cocoamok, so now the time has come for others to show what they're worth. We would like to wish LSD all the best for the future.

The results for the Green Liberal Democrats and the Belgian Party are not very surprising. GLD has had a stable number of members for quite some time now, and that's why they again have secured 6 seats in congress. BP lost 5 seats, but we all know that they (or at least their members) focus on Flanders and Brussels as well, so after all their result isn't that bad and they remain the second biggest party in congress for now.

There's a lot to be done in our country in the coming weeks. Our southern parts are still occupied by a foreign force, the gold price is increasing rapidly, we left PEACE, the constitution isn't done yet.... all in all there's a lot to do! If we all work together though, we'll be able to overcome every problem, be it big or small. We've always been a relative small country which has achieved relatively much. There's no need why it should be different in the future.
