Nota #4 – Carta Aberta aos Governos da LETO / Open Letter to LETO Governments

Aos CP’s, Ministros, Congressistas e demais Responsáveis Políticos das Nações da Aliança LETO:

Dirijo-me a vós enquanto cidadão particular de Portugal, uma das Nações constituintes da Aliança LETO.
Não represento o Governo de Portugal, ao qual não pertenço nem nunca pertenci.
Não represento o Congresso de Portugal, ao qual não pertenço.
Não represento o meu Partido, onde não exerço, nem nunca exerci, qualquer cargo além de simples militante.
Não represento a minha Unidade Militar, onde não exerço qualquer cargo além de soldado, já tendo sido, no passado, Capitão de Regimento.
Não represento os cidadãos Portugueses, embora esteja convencido que muitos, senão mesmo a maioria, concordam comigo.
Não represento os cidadãos das restantes Nações da Aliança LETO, embora ache que muitos concordam comigo.

Esta Aliança foi fundada com dois pressupostos profundamente errados.

Em primeiro lugar as várias Nações pertencentes à Aliança não têm, com algumas excepções como Portugal e Colômbia, uma história recente comum. Não existe um sentimento de União e Irmandade entre todas estas Nações.
A sensação com que fico é que estas Nações foram forçadas a associar-se, não por serem Nações com ligações fortes entre si, nem por terem interesses comuns, mas apenas porque foram escolhidas pelas Nações da Aliança ASTERIA.
Embora um erro, com boa vontade por parte dos cidadãos das Nações da Aliança e boa coordenação por parte da Liderança da Aliança, poderá ser possível criar uma Verdadeira Irmandade entre estas Nações e outras que se venham a juntar à Aliança.

Em segundo lugar o papel subsidiário e subserviente da LETO em relação à ASTERIA, não só é humilhante como também um profundo erro, na medida em que deixa a percepção de que esta Aliança, a LETO, foi fundada não para promover uma Irmandade entre as suas Nações nem para salvaguardar os seus interesses, mas apenas para promover uma RESERVA de DANO a ser usada sempre que a ASTERIA decidir.

Estão, a meu ver, criadas as condições para uma rápida desintegração desta Aliança, com as consequências que se podem antever.

Senhores CP’s, Ministros, Congressistas e demais Responsáveis Políticos das Nações da Aliança LETO:

Será talvez a altura certa para repensar os propósitos e os objectivos da LETO, enquanto a CARTA da Aliança ainda não está pronta nem ratificada. Embora nada impeça que a mesma seja alterada, se as Nações signatárias assim o decidirem.

Enquanto Português sinto uma grande simpatia por várias das Nações da ASTERIA, como a Argentina, a Eslovénia e a România e lembro-me que já fomos aliados das outras Nações da ASTERIA, Grécia, Hungria e Sérvia, embora esta última tenha sido antes de eu começar a jogar, e respeito-as.

Não veria com bons olhos um afastamento de Portugal das Nações da ASTERIA. Acredito que podemos, ASTERIA e LETO, trilhar um caminho comum, de Irmandade e Respeito Mútuo. Mas como IRMÃOS LEAIS, não como MÃE MANDONA e FILHO OBEDIENTE.

Acho que a decisão acertada será a transformação desta Aliança, LETO, numa Aliança Independente, embora aliada com a ASTERIA, abrangente, existem mais algumas Nações neste eMundo que podem e devem ser consideradas para entrar nesta Aliança. Defendo que a LETO deve ser uma Aliança onde não existam diferenças entre as Nações constituintes, independentemente de serem ou não Nações Fundadoras. Todas devem ter a mesma voz e a mesma importância. É esta a única maneira de construir uma Verdadeira Irmandade.

Quanto à ASTERIA, defendo que podemos e devemos firmar um PACTO, nos mesmos moldes do PACTO ASTERIA/ASGARD.

To the CP 's, Ministers, Congressmen and other Policymakers of the LETO Alliance Nations:

I address myself to you as a private citizen of Portugal, one of the constituent Nations of the LETO Alliance.
I do not represent the Government of Portugal, on which I do not hold, or have ever held, any office.
I do not represent the Congress of Portugal, on which I do not serve.
I do not represent my Party, where I do not hold, or have ever held, any position, beyond a simple member.
I do not represent my Military Unit, where I do not exercise any office, other than soldier, although I have, in the past, served as Regiment Captain.
I do not represent the Portuguese citizens, although I am convinced that many, if not most, agree with me.
I do not represent the citizens of the other Nations of the LETO Alliance, although I think many would agree with me.

This Alliance was founded with two profoundly wrong assumptions.

Firstly, the various Nations belonging to this Alliance do not have, with some exceptions such as Portugal and Colombia, a common recent history. There is no feeling of Unity and Brotherhood among all these Nations.
The feeling that I get is that these Nations were forced to join, not because they share strong links, not because they have common interests, but only because they were chosen by the Nations of the ASTERIA Alliance.
Although a mistake, with good will on the part of the Alliance citizens and good coordination by the Alliance Leadership, it may be possible to create a True Brotherhood among these Nations, and others that may join the Alliance.

Secondly, the subsidiary and subservient role of LETO regarding ASTERIA, is not only humiliating but also a profound error, in that it leaves the perception that this Alliance, LETO, was not founded to promote Brotherhood amongst its Nations or to safeguard their interests, but only to build a DAMAGE RESERVE, to be used whenever ASTERIA decides.

In my view, the conditions are created for a rapid disintegration of this alliance, with the consequences that may be predicted.

CP 's, Ministers, Congressmen and other Policymakers of the LETO Alliance Nations:

Now is be the time to rethink the purposes and objectives of LETO, while the Alliance Charter is not yet finished nor ratified. Although nothing prevents it to be amended if the signatories Nations so decide.

As a Portuguese I feel great sympathy for various ASTERIA Nations, such as Argentina, Romania and Slovenia and I remember we once were allies of the other nations of ASTERIA, Greece, Hungary and Serbia, although the latter was before I started playing, and I respect them.

I would not welcome a move away from the Nations of ASTERIA. I believe we can, ASTERIA and LETO, tread a common path of Brotherhood and Mutual Respect. But as LOYAL BROTHERS, not as BOSSY MOTHER and OBEDIENT CHILD.

I think the right decision is the transformation of this Alliance, LETO, into an Independent Alliance, although allied with ASTERIA, an open Alliance, there are some other Nations in this eWorld that can and should be considered to join this Alliance. I say that LETO should be an Alliance where there are no differences between its constituent Nations, whether or not Founding Nations. All must have an equal voice and an equal value. That is the only way to build a True Brotherhood.

Regarding ASTERIA, I advocate that we can and should make a PACT, along the lines of the ASTERIA/ASGARD PACT.
