Non-Partisan Committee
Michael Hook
As some of you know, I've recently come back from a little eSabbatical somewhat appalled to what eIreland has turned into. It really seemed like a ghost land. Not only that, but in these past few days things have progressively gotten nastier and nastier. Because of this I began work on a proposal that will hopefully ease the environment here in eIreland making it friendlier as well as simply adding something to talk about. As you can see I am quite out of shape with my article writing so for that I'm deeply sorry but I decided the proposal itself is more important then the article releasing it.
Please give me some feedback on what you think of it and feel free to tell me if you have any ideas of improvement with it. I understand this proposal is very far from perfect and may not even work. I'm releasing this to test it out and see what support I can muster. Before I give the link for this I'd just like to thank Moomoohead for not only reading through and giving some simple advice but for adding some significant parts to the proposal. It really has made it stronger and so much more easily doable. Also I'd like to thank Anthony Colby and Nogin the Nog for reading over giving advice as well as giving their support for this endeavor. Without your support I probably would not have actually released this.
I've decided to release this now as this is probably the worst state I've seen Ireland in for the time I've been playing. We need something to bring us together especially at a time like this. The proposal is located here.
Thank you for reading,
Michael Hook

Read in full, to include the actual proposal. I think it is outstanding. I hate to say anything negative, but the people worth their salt and who would be involved are already doing what is right. Those who would embargo such an idea will do as they wish anyway and somehow still attain office.
For what it's worth, I support you and your efforts.
Our party differences are moot when compared to our love of Éire.
While you're correct yes this that may still happen. However it will still have some benefit. One, Newcomers who are worth their salt will be given direction and a spotlight if they try hard. Not only that but it will give voters a little more direction. Perhaps a voter will spot an endorsed candidate in their region that they like and will go across party boundaries to vote for them. I think it's one of the worst parts of the Political game mechanism that for Congress elections you first choose which party you want to support. Part of this may get the people who work for it elected rather then those with the biggest voter base as their party.
Any attempt to encourage cooperation between parties, and more responsibility in elected TD's, is laudable in my opinion. Very good work.
I find the 'Senate' idea quite interesting too.
@MIchael Hook
i couldn't disagree more on you proposal. Everthing you say inside is only subjective ideas.
Who has the right to judge if somebody writes a promising manifest, if not the voters?
Who has the right to elect candidates if not PP and the party members?
Who has the authority to blacklist TD's?
Who has the authority to monk TD's for donating tresure maps to their party?
I could write down many arguments, but i need an article.
This is another way to put socialists out of the frame.
First was CT proposal for a fixed cabinet, then your proposal for an elit of elder that will judge who deserves to represent people and who not.
No, mate, socialists have a total different way of seeing things. We count people as people and not as numbers in a worhtless pointsystem.
We love ireland, and we know that if is ruled from people that want to force things from up, our job is always to force things from the base, from the people.
So, as your article has deleted me from the title, say NO to your proposal, as you said to me
sorry for mistakes,
VP of LP

Connolly James, the people get to choose those things. But even in this game socialists choose representatives to the Dail and party offices. So the same process happens here. I would see this as a way for socialists to be more included in the process and not excluded. I for one don't care about what party you are from. Good ideas are good ideas and loyal Irish are loyal Irish, no matter the party. Just my way of seeing things. I respect yours but I think this has merit.
@Anthony Colby, you havent answered any of my questions.
Loving eIreland is not the same for a socialist and for a nationalist... thats politics alphabet.
Some people want social peace, some others like class struggle...
The proposal of MH is a pure and classical bourgeois opinion of politics. I dont think that the company of citizens that rule ireland no mmater their party has nothing to do with the mess in the ecomony. Sorry mate, but 40-50 ppl active in chats rule ireland, and have abolished orientations just for the "good" of ireland. But "good" is subjective. Its not like "sun rises from east" thing.
You cant even imagine how a cabinet structure could be under socialistic programm, you have no idea how important for socialists is to have active citizens that follow politics and judge on their own the worthys and not. This proposal is here to make everything "fast food" politics, served at elections, and get payed by results.
I really like this Michael...its a good idea and I think each party should at least give it a try...could only bring positives to eIreland and show what parties can do when they work on the same wave lenght
Thanks everyone else for their support.
This is a really really great idea, and most diffently be given a go...
you are welcome for the help.
I am always in two minds when people complain about partisanship. I sometimes wonder why they complain so much because strong political opposition can actually be a very healthy thing if done right and of course why bother being in different parties if you're not going to oppose each other?
On the other hand though, it does often get out of hand and it can prevent any proper progress being made for the betterment of eIreland.
I feel this proposal helps to cut down on this excessive partisanship.
Couldn't have said it better John. Exactly the purpose of it.
@John Gromley
i agree to your first paragraph. But i am confused about the excessive.
do you have an excessiveness-meter to give me so i can messure my partisanship
I think he means to say that when arguments or disagreements become heated they are no longer healthy and drive us further apart.
