No Strength without Unity. [The Ronin's Voice]

One of the key lessons learned by the Samurai, and reinforced in my life as a Ronin, is that there is no strength without unity.
As I look around my nation today, I see the disagreements, I see the arguments, and I see the way people deliberately sow discontent in order to create a divide aimed at furthering their own self-serving needs.

I grow weary of the constant fighting and bickering, and it pains me so to see our once great nation brought so low by these actions.
I am reminded of a tale I was often told when I was a child.

Three Bulls were grazing together in a meadow. Unknown to them, they were being watched by a Lion, who longed to capture and eat them.
The lion, however, felt he was no match for the three so long as they kept together; whenever he came near they turned their tails to one another, so that whichever way he approached them he was met by the horns of one of them.

Changing tact, the Lion began spreading false whispers and rumors in order to cause jealousy and distrust among them.
Repeated over time, this method worked so well that the Bulls grew cold and unfriendly toward one another, and finally avoided each other altogether, each bull feeding separately.
The lion was able to easily overpower a single bull and ate all three at his leisure.

This story shows very clearly that the quarrels of friends are the opportunities of foes.
United, we stand stronger than when broken into separate groups and factions.

Unity is a powerful thing.
One strand of string is easily broken, but if you were to twist dozens of strings together into a rope, that string would suddenly be much more difficult to break.
One vote is hardly enough to swing an election (usually), but if you get a majority to vote the same way, as one unified voice, then democratic power can and does assert itself.

Yet, unity is not simply about numbers.

There might be thousands of soldiers fighting in a battle, but if those thousands are not fighting for a unified purpose or goal and do not fight as one, then they are easily dispatched.

Just as unity is vital for bulls, strings, voters and warriors, it is so for the people of eJapan.
We are one body, brothers and sisters.

The nation is not made up of a bunch of self-autonomous parts. We are joined and knit together, a unified body.

Yet, “unity” can be, and in our society - often is, misleading.

Can we belong to different parties but stand together?
Can we hold strong to different beliefs, but be one together?

The different strengths and weaknesses, the alternative political affiliations and clashing personalities - these all add up to so much more than their collective parts.
Our nation has the elements required to stand tall. Stand strong. To be the rock, the anchor, and the support desperately needed in Asia.

I urge you all - my brothers and sisters - to stand united, to stand strong. Listen not to false whispers - turn a deaf ear to the rumors, and step away from pointless arguments.
Love thy neighbor - as together, in unity, we stand strong.

I am the voice of unity.
I am the voice of friendship.
I am the voice of honor.

I am the voice of the Ronin.

I hope that you do not confuse this for a work of fanciful fiction. This was written carefully as a direct response to the problems facing eJapan, given a twist by assuming the character of the Ronin Leader.

I hope all citizens can take something from his wise words.

Angrr
Party President, the Ronin.
