News | Congress Passes New 1.00 PHP Minimum Wage Bill
Swagger McSwag
MANILA - Yesterday, the Congress of the Philippines passed a new bill lowering the minimum wage to 1.00 PHP, with 22 yes votes and with 2 no votes, from the 1.80 PHP, which Congress set just a day earlier.
According to the Bank of Philippines, "lowering the wage means food is cheaper, and actually, comparatively cheaper for people to buy. Along with our recent creation of a food company, this should provide enough food for all".
Bank of Philippines is the sister organization of the Filipino Progressive Movement.
In a statement released by the Pearl of the Orient Corp., director raramos24 stated that "the POC is largely unaffected by the decrease in minimum wage".
He continued, "Because of the comprehensive salary system we have developed, we can adjust our salary for our workers, making sure they get enough wellness".

Hmmmm...... speaking of the POC....... I can't relate on the topics........ hehehehe........ maybe I should just be active there then....
@Bill. When did you get here? The 1st Philippine Congress set the 1.50 PHP. The 2 Philippine Congress set it to 1.80 PHP a few days ago. It was a bill proposed by the PFF. Everybody thought that that might not have been a good idea. So, the FPM set it to 1.00 PHP.
Looks like Bill deleted his comment. LOL
Thank you, Congress!
Salamat. Maraming, maraming salamat.
Could taxes be next, please?
currently planning I guess...
Stupid.. less wages means less purchasing power for the people.. LOL maybe tax cuts for the manufacturers or firms are a better way to solve the problem. There is no point in taking the minimum wage to 1 dollar because there is no such thing as a price floor at 1php.. LOL and these firms work on an oligopoly.. they can control prices etc. hahahahaha
if u really want to stimulate the economy, then you increase the capability of the worker to spend money..
