New War Module?

Day 440, 19:02 Published in USA USA by Justin The Grand

The complete and utter lack of militaristic events in eRep since the server shut down and the infamous bugs has left me with some time to think about ways to make this game a little bit more interesting. I know this game is nothing like real life (RL) and I am not trying to convince you that it should be made to be, but I do feel as if there is some aspects of real life that can be incorporated into this game to add to the interest and versatility of this game to liven up the consistent routine that plagues it as of late. Perhaps the military aspect of eRep should be changed to represent more RL actions.

For instance, the national government in the RL does not have complete and utter control on the war options of all of its citizens. In a perfect country this may be desired, but it does not exist. People are unpredictable and spontaneous. Military uprisings occur and riots happen. Therefore, maybe the person-to-person war setup should be brought back and citizens (or collective groups of citizens) can be given the opportunity to attack other people or even their own governments with the threat of being utterly destroyed by a force much larger than themselves the deterrent for such actions.

Also, it is my opinion that businesses should be made more competetive. Currently the only competition between businesses is price. The lowest priced product in the quality level you need is the one that you will buy. In order to fix this perhaps aspects of quality levels being broken down into hundrethds of decimals (say a Q1 product may be either 1.23 or 1.89) based upon the the productivity of the workers with suttle but distinguishable differences. This would create some versatility in the purchasing of products from citizens. (Say a citizen is in the Q1 product bracket and wants top notch, they would then pay for a 1.92 product which would cost more. Now if a citizen in the same bracket wants a Q1 product but doesn't want to pay as much then they would prefer to purchase a 1.19 quality product.)

Another possibility would be to give some more power back to districts (in the eUSA states) in order to bring some more versatility into politics and living arrangements. Currently the fact that there is even states to chose from means nothing unless you are running for Congress, you are a soldier so you live in Florida most likely to utilize the Q5 hospital, or you have some meaningless RL connection to the state in which you reside. Therefore, maybe districts in this game should be given a little bit more control in this game. Districts should have the ability to tax how the feel as fit on certain products as long as it is in accordance with national government legislature and perhaps you should have to at least live in the district that the company you work for is located in.

Well thats pretty much all I have to say. Some of you may find this boring and not worth the time to read or think of me as a complete idiot who needs to stop overthinking this game, but whatever. You all have your own opinions and I would appreciate voting this article up to get some attention to make a change whether you completely agree with my ideas or not.
