New Topic: Money!

I am trying to figure out how to boost my production without paying real money for gold. The question is how can I take the next step and upgrade one of my food companies?

Bascially I would have to pay: 20 Gold (😳6666.67 right now) to upgrade the company, plus $4500 (=13.5 Gold) for the raw materials.

Total, $11,166.67 or 33.5 Gold.

In purely economic terms, the going rate for level 1 food right now is $.05 for Q1 food and $.08 for Q2 food.

That means the purely financial benefit of the upgrade is the differential ($.03) times 100 (the amount produced) or $3.

Now ignoring the fact that it gives me more energy to fight, which should be reflected in the cost in the marketplace, I would be spending $11,166.67 for a benefit of $3 per day.

A strict payback calculation says that it would take 3722.22 days to recoup my investment. Twice as long as the game has existed! 10 years!

This is simply quite a pathetic economic model directing players toward paying for gold.

Now if I simply bought another Q1 food company for 10 Gold = ($3,333.33) plus the required inputs for $4500 (=13.5 Gold), then I would be spending $7,833.33 for 100 units of a product worth $.05. This means $5/day.

The strict payback calculation says is would take 1566.67 days to recoup that investment or almost as long as the game has been in existence. It is still spectacularly bad, but a better investment than the upgrade.

If all I get is $21 per day for my job, even if I didn't have to spend money on food for my energy needs, or on traveling, or on weapons, which is impossible, I would need a year to buy and support a Q1 food company. Again quite pathetic.

Now I know prices in the marketplace change but not in an amount to make the calculations essentially different.

But the question is: Is there any value in upgrading a food company? It seems not.
