New Libertarian Party congress policy

Day 769, 12:58 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by Libertarian Party Organisation

First of all, the Libertarian Party would like to congratulate all parties, the Belgian Party, the Libertarian Social Democrats, the Green Liberal Democrats and Iron and Wine, on their success in the previous elections. The unavoidable timing of the elections has made them difficult for all parties involved, and the Libertarian Party is happy to say that we broke even and retained the two seats we held previously. The Libertarian Party also applauds those parties that have published manifestoes for congress.

Having taken part in Mitch Rapp’s previous coalition government, the Libertarian Party feels that it has gained alot of experience of governance, giving us better knowledge to use in future. But this accepted, the new government and congress situation demands that we publish a new policy for congress. The Libertarian Party’s congress members will pursue the following aims -

1. In congress, the Libertarian Party's members will pursue a policy of cooperation with Iron&Wine and the Green Liberal Democrats as in the previous administration. But building on our previous experience, we will now also work to maintain good relations with all parties and support government with experience and ability. Fighting between parties has harmed the United Netherlands, and if engagement with other parties will make the Union stronger, then the Libertarian Party supports that.

2. We are still committed to advancing the cause of friendship with Germany, the United Kingdom, and France in congress. With the liberation of Flanders and Brussels a previous success, we believe this policy has been proved, and the Libertarian Party will work to help our friends in Germany and France with their struggles against oppression. When they are safe and possible, the United Netherlands supports alliances with these countries.

3. Whilst we are strongly committed to friendship with the United Kingdom, the Libertarian Party does not support a merger with the United Kingdom. The Libertarian Party aims to defend democracy and the rights of the people, and we believe that the bigger state resulting from the merger will pose a threat to those values.

4. The Libertarian Party remains unconvinced by the Phoenix structure and philosophy, and believes repeating the mistakes of EDEN will end in the same result. Phoenix is now a reality and alliances are a necessity, but where possible the Libertarian Party will seek to hold Phoenix to account and make the United Netherlands influential in the alliance’s reform.

5. This party has an ongoing policy of opposition to the enlargement of state companies and training companies. In congress the Libertarian Party's members will seek to continue this policy.

6. The Libertarian Party believes we must learn from the mistakes of the past when we lost Flanders and Brussels, and pursue military reforms that will better defend the United Netherlands. In congress the Libertarian Party will support initiatives which better defend the Union.

7. In agreement with the Party's democratic values, party members who are not in congress will retain the right to suggest policy to the party, which pending general agreement will be further pursued by our congress members. In short, anyone can suggest policies for the congress members to suggest in congress.

As above, this party is committed to practical statements of intent, not personality summaries. These are the policies that the Libertarian Party's members of congress will pursue in congress. As in our previous article, New Liberty states that the Libertarian Party is a party that will never be afraid to be controversial, and will always defend the freedom of the common people, no matter how big their opponent. Help us to do that in congress tommorow by continuing to vote Libertarian!
