New government
Bl1ndn3ss
Here are a few updates of what I've been doing for the last couple of days.
A few choices were made concerning the staff:
Vice President: Gentyle
Chief Of Staff: Callagan
Head of the Recruitment Department: Albert Neurath
Director of Wellness Program: Nouveauk
The wellness program received new funding and I'll be reorganizing our military and maybe send some troops to foreign conflicts to gain some experience.
I'll start using the governments gold to balance our currency. I expect we will lose some (but not a lot) of our money because of it. But we will gain back that money in the raising value of the THB.
Real work will start when I have the cabinet completed.
I do not know who it is but I would very much like to thank the owner of the Nerevar Holdings Org for his/her's generous offers.
You have the thanks of a grateful president.
PAY ATTENTION:
Even if you are not a part of the government feel free to send me any suggestions in any area. Every idea is welcome, but (and this is important) I WILL NOT give any loans to companies.

Nice choices so far! Good luck this month.
I'm glad to see you are taking this serious and I look forward to seeing the results of your term 😃. Good Luck!
P.S. Concerning Military: Where can a sergeant with 6.3 strength sign up?
@Jari: You can talk to Vincent Garibaldi
if you need some help just talk with me, MigMaster or Lorenzo Lopes
If you wish to join me in the work of the recruitment office, please PM me or leave a comment in my last article.
As an ambassador for eGreece to eThailand, I would be more then happy to talk to the president or his cabinet about relations between eGreece and eThailand.
Please refrain from raising the value of the THB. This would kill our export (or, to stay competitive, we would have to reduce the salaries, which would not create an optimistic mood).
Wait...you're an ambassador from eGreece? If you are here as a Greek official, you really shouldnt be holding any seat or office in Thailand.
Or is this a unofficial title?
Im not trying to pick another fight here, Im simply saying you're either here as a Thai official/congressmen or you're here as a Greek official to Thailand. Both would be a conflict of interest really.
Part of my campaing I ran on was my experiance in different political circles, I never hide the fact that I have been involved in many different political circles.
As far as me being an official eGreek ambassador to eThailand, it has been official eversince about yesterday. I am in direct communitcation with the eGreek government, so its not just me acting on my own, although I do alot of political work, both independent and in coodination with other ecountries and eparties and ecommunities also.
I really dont see how this is a conflict of interests, since I have always been and am still involved in different political circles, and I openly admit that, including running on that fact when I was running for congress.
Experience in different political circles isnt quite the same as holding official govt offices in two different countries. You would never see it happen IRL, because your loyalties would be divided among other things.
*shrugs*
Argh, my comment got cut off...
This is definitely something that should be added to our Constitution. Congressmen/women, cabinet members, and presidents should only hold office in our nation during their terms or contracts.
"You would never see it happen IRL, because your loyalties would be divided among other things."
Dual citizenship, people working in different political communities all over the world, it actually happens in the real world. Now in the case of someone being a congressman in one country and an ambassador from another may be rare in RL, international political relations is pretty common nowsdays in RL.
"This is definitely something that should be added to our Constitution. Congressmen/women, cabinet members, and presidents should only hold office in our nation during their terms or contracts."
Considering that there is not many RL Thais in eThailand and eThailand is pretty multicultural in RL players, and multinational in erepublik, I dont think that would be a good ideal to have a ban like that. People that may move to eThailand may not if they have to give up their old poltical affiliations.
That's what I was refering to II. In a political seat, you'd never see a person holding a seat in two different countries.
And I dont see why it would be an issue. Im from eUSA originally but I have absolutely no desire to hold a political office both here and there, nor do I have any allegiance to eUSA. I think its important for people to maintain their allegiance to the nation they live in, putting that nation first. Hence why it would be a good idea to mandate that anyone holding office in Thailand put aside past allegiances and foreign offices.
Nice people in the government team. Good luck for all!
@thingol:
We have been discussing this for more than 2 months and now you decide to participate?
I'm sorry but I'm not going to keep the value of the THB low, and prevent foreign companies to export the products we need, so that a couple companies can make a profit.
We do need to address salaries though. I have been working on a table of "recommended" values with adjustable values tied to the Baht going up or down.
If we are to produce products and compete than we need to address the exorbitant salaries.
I hate spamming so im very sorry if this is the second time you've read this:
I am looking for Thailands indisputed media mogul. More specifically, I am looking for an editor who is fast, objective and impartial in their reporting. could somone please direct me to him/her? (please PM)
PS: i do apologise for littering your article
It is true, that I am not a long-term citizen of Thailand. However, I have written an earlier posting on the topic of the value of the THB before the presidential elections. My point is, that it is not easy to reduce salaries, especially in a country where many companies are understaffed. If you really want to go this way, then please explain it very well to all citizens: how the old and the new value of their money are related and which new salary is equivalent to which old salary. The only case where we can keep the current salaries with a higher THB is when we achieve to generate a higher domestic demand by attracting a lot of new citizens, thus making us independent from export. I expect from the government to keep the macroeconomics in mind and especially to think about scenarios for the transition period.
And a remark about profit: Profit is a company's oxygen. In my case, I need it to pay back the loan I was given to purchase the company. If I cannot achieve this, my eLife will come to an abrupt end.
I am with Thingol on the central bank messing with the monetary market. The market is already adjusted to the supply of bahts, meaning the prices of products and labor tend to result in certain differentials. Attempts to boost or lower its value(by the central bank) only lead to distortions and thus inefficiencies in the market.
For instance an abrupt strengthening of the Baht(as is currently being done) through deflation (removing bahts from the market) leads to prices being to high to maintain. Thus a period of price adjustment must take place to remain competitive.
The market(excluding government because it does not obtain its income voluntarily) does not care what the supply of money is. However, abrupt changes to the supply is what matters. This disturbance always leads to an adjustment period where inefficiencies are introduced that other wise would not have occurred without government intervention.
I have seen that this "operation higher Baht" has already starte😛
Central Bank of Thailand
46.48 GOLD 1 GOLD = 105 THB
However, I have not seen proper communication to the citizens about the goals and the effects of this operation. If you cannot support this action with the presentation of a macroecenomic model, the impression will be that you "act first, think afterwards". Here is a hint where to find some basics:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Money_supply
I know both Division Bell and Thingol regularly participate on the Money Markets, so its natural to expect those that are capitalizing on our exchange to object to govt interference. Not that I am condemning them for profiting, Im just pointing out to those who might not watch the market as closely as I do what some motivations may be.
I have already laid open my motivation. It has nothing to do with money market speculation, but with export. To explain it in simple words: I am producing something where we have obviously more production than demand in Thailand, hence I have to export the greater part of my production. This means that I get paid in gold (or another currency) that I have to change back to THB, because the employees in Thailand want their salaries in THB. If the value of the THB rises, I need to lower the salaries in order to be competitive on the world market. And lowering the salaries is never an easy task. This requires a good preparation and an extremely careful communication to the people - which I am missing here.
And one more comment regarding motivations: Look who has thousands of THB in his account, and you know who will profit most from a higher value of the THB.
Well I know I dont have thousands. Wait do I? Hhmmm...
*runs off to double check he's not going crazy*
