I've recently read an article stating that some of were are unable to vote int this last congressional election, and every single day we congress members get over 50 alerts saying that we have more and more people coming in who most likely won't be able to get jobs or feed themselves. There are a lot of people who join and barely become apart of eRepublik.
You guys have to get active and get jobs. I recommend jobs in either manufacturing (we need more workers there) or in land DO NOT GET A JOB IN CONSTRUCTION. The economy in the ePhilippines is in too bad of a place right now to pay you well in construction. I personally have reached a decently high level in contruction and now that I've moved here I had to get a job in another field.
It's also a good idea, in the long run, to get jobs in two or three fields as to level up in both so that you can work anywhere you want.
At the moment we really do need people to work in Q1 food so that the new eFilipinos can actually afford to stay alive, we also need jobs in gifting if at all possible.
Keep each other afloat!!! If any new players need help financially or otherwise I know that most of us congress member would be more than willing to help. Find a gifting buddy (you donate them a gift and they gift you).
If you join the game, please keep playing, get involved in politics, join a party, LEVEL UP!!! That is necessary, make sure you train. Although this seems unnecessary, it will help you level up much faster!

From the look of the things, ePhilippines won't be a place to grow rich anytime soon, so probably capitalist investors -foreign or national- won't save it.
Maybe solidarity can. Why don't you encourage, from the parliament, both the creation of state industries to give work to the newbies and the formation of coops for the less-than newbies? 10 people above level 6 can easily pool gold to form a coop, and from my limited experience they work really well. Grain in Luzon is medium, so grain+food industries will never show a lot of profit, but should work just fine to keep people from starving. And you have high oil in Palawan, so there you can be competitive at an international level. The network of worker-run coops I work with would probably be willing to buy oil from a similar worker-run coop -through donation, so you don't need an export license-, even if the price isn't the absolute best in the marketplace.
At least publishing a guide of action might help a lot by itself, specially if someone takes the work to mail it to the newbies. Let me know if I can help.

Good to see a call to "up tools and work". Still, I have to disagree with the plan of jumping from industry to industry. Low skill workers don't make a profit for either themselves or their employers.

i'm also a newbie here, i found myself working as a peacekeeper. i don't know if it was the right thing to do? any inputs please? by the way, i know that i have to read the tips in order for me to learn this game but i'm too lazy enough to hate doing it.
find some good people to give you food...i did that and some people like bestie101 actually donated food to me... i was desperate at that time, now look at me i'm now at level 7...
Oh, and don't beg for food from these good people too much... once is enough, don't be greedy, you can probably feed yourself when you achieve skill level 1...
