New Blood For an Old Branch

Day 1,295, 20:14 Published in USA USA by Heather Fuchs

Today's Battle Cry is an interview long overdue. First, however, we must bid a fond farewell to another MI Commanding Officer, General tsewell (Ret.). After many months of shepherding the Mobile Infantry through some very trying times, he has decided to step down and 37-click. We will miss his leadership and wish him all the best (and some poor PCO now has to order him around).

Congratulations are also in order to our new CO, General AutumnsDawn, moving up from the XO position due to tsewell's retirement. And in keeping with the proud hierarchical traditions of the eUS Military, she has appointed none other than today's interviewee, Lieutenant General Heather Fuchs, as her number two.

So on with the interview!!!

So what's the significance of your avatar?

Well... my avatar is a cloud - which is based on a RL nickname, and a fuchsia flower

When did you start playing eRepublik? How did you get into the game (what connection)?

Back in the middle of the summer of '09. July 17th, to be exact. I was bored and clicked on a link somewhere - I can't remember where exactly.

How did you get involved in the eUS Military?

Well, I spent the first 6 months mostly... what was it, 7 clicking... and I was starting to get somewhat bored with the game, so I figured I'd try joining the military to keep my interest up.

Why did you join the MI?

I went through the Training Corps stuff fairly quickly, and I didn't really care where I went at the time, but I think I had NG listed as my preference because I wasn't too sure how active I'd be able to be with school.... anyway like a day after I became one of the Top 50 recruits there, I got a message saying I've been requested for the MI. And I thought "sure, why not?" That was on March 6th '10.

Tell us about your MI career.

This might be long.... oh well. 😛
Well, I was placed in Alpha 6 under JeepAmerica, who left like a week or two later. Vytautus, the PXO, took over as PCO and seeing that I was becoming fairly active on irc, offered me the PXO position. I was A6 PXO for a month when Alpha's CCO Lawliet94 and the newly appointed CXO ABCDwp both contacted me about taking over for ABCDwp as PCO of Alpha 2. I had a great time running A2, but after 6 or 7 weeks I was courted by QMG Greene12 to join the ranks of the QMs, which I did - officially becoming a QM on June 15 '10.

QMing was great - though the transition to V2 made things a little... meh, as I ended up being the main person doing irc food supplying during the V2 battles.... which resulted in my inability to fight in the battles for most of V2 (as I had to keep my attention focused on supplying, and the deploying and moving around the battlefield was just too much). Anyway, I disappeared for most of the month of October when I was hospitalized IRL and was actually briefly permabanned during that time (for multis - I suspect from logging on from the hospital's computers). The permabanned was quickly reversed, though... I thought it was quite apparent I was barely able to take care of my own account let alone someone run multiple accounts. Anyway, I got out of the hospital and back to QMing in the first week of November - warmly greeted back by QMG AutumnsDawn.

The beginning of February brought the retirement of CO GoalieBCSC. tsewell took over as the new CO, AutumnsDawn was promoted to take his place has the new XO, and I was promoted to take her place as the new QMG. As QMG, I was constantly altering and tweaking or supply system, trying to keep up with the multitude of admin changes, dealing with funding fluctuations (and eventually the lack of funding completely), and taking the reigns of managing the commune system.

Now, with tsewell's retirement, AutumnsDawn has taken over as the CO of the MI, with myself taking her spot as XO of the MI. Anyway, was that long enough for you?

What was your favorite V1 moment?

I'm not sure I have a particular "favorite moment" that stands out for me. I do really miss the epic V1 mass attacks though.

Favorite V2 moment?

When it ended. 😛

This would be HF's favorite weapon...

Favorite officer?

Hmmm... how do you mean? The favorite officer I personally had (like in charge of me?) or the favorite person I knew who simply was an officer?

Either one... these aren't supposed to be difficult questions.

hmmm... well, many of my favorite officers still play, and I think I'd feel uncomfortable naming one of them... so instead I'll name the officer who no longer plays who was my favorite - that was stewy. Very active, very good at what he did, but unfortunately RL responsibilities took him away from the game, and he went inactive, never to be heard from again.

Cake or Pie?
Honestly I like both, but pie is clearly superior.
Cake is just a sweet spongy iced that is never filling but can make you sick from eating too much.
Pie can be.... such a variety of different options - a standard fruit-filled pie, a chocolate silk pie with oreo crust, a quiche, a key lime pie with graham cracker crust, a savoury meat pie or pot pie, or a custard pie - which includes the ever-popular and misnamed cheesecake (cheesepie would be more accurate).
Pies can be nutritionally better for you, are more acceptable in a wider range of situations, and be a desert or your whole meal (like a chicken pot pie).
Here, let me show you this cake chart that proves... oh wait, there are no cake charts. Only pie charts are scientifically valid!
... okay, sorry, that last thing was lame. Anyway, yeah. Pie, clearly better than cake.

Favorite opponent, if you have one?
Ehhh.... don't really have a favorite...

Thanks for your time, and good luck with your new duties!

Another interview hits the presses. Watch this space for more interviews, including our recently retired general (if I can find him) and our new CO!

If you are at least 5 days old, your strength is at least 500 and your battlefield rank is Lieutenant or higher (or you can do at least 85 influence per fight barehanded) and you like pie as much as we do, you too could be a member of the Mobile Infantry!!!

If not, then you could also get your fight on in the Training Corps!
