Nation Building

Greetings people of Cyprus. My name is Jewyoyo, and like many of you a recent immigrant to this new country. I was a long time resident of Israel, serving 9 congressional terms and publishing my newspaper. Today I am a proud citizen of a new country – Cyprus.

Those of us who are here number less than 100, but we all have a unique opportunity and responsibility. We are the nation builders. We come from Hungary, Israel, Spain, Turkey, Greece, and all over the world. But we all share something in common.

WE ARE CYPRIOTS!

Together we will forge a common identity and build this nation up: economically, culturally, militarily. We must have peace with our neighbors and oppose oppressors abroad. And perhaps most importantly, we must be independent.
