My Speech For Congressional Elections.

Day 425, 20:28 Published in Canada Canada by emilio sanchez

Hello fellow eCanadians,

As most of you know, my name is Emilio Sanchez. If you don’t know who I am, I am sure you will sometime in the future.

I said in the last congress elections, that I did not have time to write a proper speech about why to vote for me, since it was a last minute change of mind to run. But now I have lots of time to write a speech. Since you always see other citizens running for a government position talking about their past, I guess I will do the same.

A little bit about me:

I have been in eRepublik since the Beta days. (5 months.)

I have seen good times and bad. But I have not let the bad times get to me. In the 5 months I have been a citizen of eRepublik, I have only missed around 5 days of not actually logging on, and 2 of those days where because of power outages.

Politics:

The very first month I joined, I knew no one. But I managed to become the mayor of Halifax (Nova Scotia) and vice president of CHAOS. In my time as mayor, I managed to make it the fastest growing region in eCanada. When I started, the population was around 17, and when I left it had over 35. More than doubling the population. I was also a major contributor to the first hospital in the region. I am proud of the fact that my efforts to make Nova Scotia prosper did not benefit citizens or businesses more than the other, but both equally. I became friends with many great citizens and I am proud to know them, and talk with them.

I also became a congressman in my first month of joining eRepublik under the CHAOS party. I have been a congressman ever since (Except for last month, since the deadline for running for congressman had passed, before I realized it.)

I fight for the benefit of citizens, and always have them on my mind when a new law comes up. Even though I am a congressman for Nova Scotia, I have the citizens of the whole country at heart.

I was deputy Foreign Affairs Minister under Augustus Baldwin, and I am currently Minister of Health and Social Services. At the moment I am working on a new health care plan to give wellness to citizens. But this will be discussed later on in another article when it is close to being released.

Business:

Being a business owner myself, I know the struggles that many eCanadian companies have. So when something is proposed that may benefit companies, I will work to get it enacted and passed, to help fellow business owners. (Before you say… “Well, your just fighting to get those business proposals past to benefit yourself.” Let me say that my two companies within my organizations are currently not operating, so it would not benefit me.)

I have been approached by many citizens to help them run companies, or just to help them figure things out. I am happy that I have helped many people become successful and helped many others with the game.

Social:

As mentioned above, I have already helped many people with the game and become successful. I am always happy to help others and put them ahead of myself.

Putting others ahead of myself, was apparent when I came out with “Operation Healthy Nation.” Which was my little effort to give new citizens wellness. When I started I had around 200 CAD. When I finished, I had around 10 CAD left. I donated to many, many citizens, and am very proud of this feat.

If you want someone that has your interest in mind, then I am your congressman.

A few other accomplishments in my 5 months:

Was one of the first Supreme Court Justices (Had to leave do to becoming minister of Social Services.)

Member of the CPF, now known as CEP (I have been approached by nearly every party in eCanada to join them.)

Member of the MeSu (Medical Supply Squad.)

When the eCanadian forums went down, I did a small part to help rebuild it.

There are other accomplishments as well, but these are the main ones, and I don’t want to bore everyone with this long speech.

So thank you and have a great 2009.

I will post one more thing about past experiences…

Even though I think your past does not necessarily dictate you or your future abilities. (For example, you could have a great past, but it only takes one moment to do the wrong thing.) It does not mean they are not right for the job. We live in a society that needs past experiences to get ahead. But what if you don’t have a past? (for example new players.)

I think everyone deserves a chance to achieve great things, if they show the willingness and drive to work hard and help their fellow citizens.

Everyone deserves a chance!

Thank You
-Emilio Sanchez
