My perception of the word 'Hail'

Hello friends. This is maybe a little unusual article, but I still think it's important for the moment.
In the moment Asgard is in war against ABC, which means that some patriotic Swedes are using many disrespectful and foolish words against our Baltic neighbors, like in this article.
I could easily write an article about that behavior, but I will spare you, such an article has already been written a few days ago.
But this time I will turn it more toward ourselves.
A lot of swedish citizens are shelving the Asgard alliance by using the word 'HAIL'. Which I think is very(!) wrong word to use in this context!
This were 3 pictures, which I found in only 2 minutes, but I can find plenty others, if I'd like to.
The reason, why I think that the word 'HAIL' is so wrong is, that Nazi-Germany and Hitler used it under the second world war and Holocaust.
I think it's so disrespectful to use the same salute, as 'The Third Reich', who killed 6 millions of Jews, and started a second world war, where many thousands of soldiers and political opponents was killed too.
Some of you says, that it's a roman salute too or whatever, but everyone knows, that Nazi-Germany used this salute too, and therefore I think it's a very wrong word to use, if you aren't supporting Nazism.
This was my opinion, and I can't make you stop using that word, but hopefully you will think more about it next time you will use it.
I'm sorry if anyone is feeling violated, but I expect everyone think it's okay not to stay anonymous, when these comments are something, that you've written in an open forum.

Ursäkta mig men herregud vilken otroligt barnslig artikel. Jag antar att alla tyskar borde sluta prata tyska också då eller då en klar majoritet av alla nazister använda sig av tyska. Du har tjafsat om detta nu i jag vet inte hur länge och du har så vitt jag vet inte ens fått medhåll av dina kommunistfränder. Dags att släppa detta nu? Hail har använts och kommer att användas av en stor del av spelarkåren så länge som eRep finns och jag kan lova att det är väldigt få som har en tanke på nazismen.
I actually think Oscdar was refering to Miksans. I somewhat believe words need to be normalized again, we can't just be afraid of stuff because it was once used in a negative context.
Hail is not the same as Heil.
Hail is a small ice formation that can come surprisingly from above and cause great damage, just like Swedish Paratroopers. Not to be confused with our tank division, the deadly Pansar Avalanche.

Hail has been used all over the eWorld since i joined the game. Hail and Heil sound almost the same but are not the same in erepublik.

Lets use your logic here for a moment, i feel personaly offended by people using the sovjet symbol becuse this is responisble for so mutch death and destruction. (I dont really but its the same s**t.). This is about the most useless article, even more so then my own and that should say alot.

Hail is a word. The Third Reich is a name.
The proper comparison would be: Would it be okay to make a new community and call it for instance "Die Neue Deutsches Reich"? And yeah, in my opinion it would.
Because "Reich" is a word, with a meaning. Not a name invented by nazis and therefore for all eternity claimed.

I'm pretty sure Aksel Strandby got confused and made a mistake, mixing up the words Heil and Hail.
It's not hard to mix things up and this reminds me of when Honda spent millions on ad-campaigns for their new car with the slogan: "Honda Fitta. Small on the outside but big on the inside!"
For 99.999 % of the world population it looks like a perfectly good slogan, for Swedes it's a source of amusement.
@Alatom: I know the two word aren't spelled in the same way, but I do still believe, that people uses the word in same way.

I do not say that you're saying Heil Hitler, I'm saying that I(!)(My opinion) think it's disrespectful to use the same special salute as Nazi-Germany, while they were killing 6 millions of Jews, and started the biggest and most destructive and cruel war ever in the world history. Personally I find the word Hail slightly archaic (and I associate it more with fantasy/fiction).
With that said - while I can, in a way, see where you're coming from I feel there's nothing wrong with using it since there isn't a direct connection between the word and Nazi Germany. Had people been using Heil instead I'd agree with you though (since communication is either in English or Swedish in eSweden), but the way it is now is fairly harmless.

Även om nu Hail och Heil betyder i princip samma sak (nämligen hälsning), fast på olika språk, så finns det inget skäl att förbjuda något av dem från modernt språkbruk bara för att nazistpartiet i 30-40 talets tyskland använde detta. - The actual German form is "Heil"
- This form to praise leaders derives from the roman and holy roman empire and is nothing the nazis have invented.
- Trying to disallow words that can have multiple context is authoritan itself

Sadly you missed the fact that Hail has been used for hundreds of years before the Third Reich was even a dream.
The third reich used a lot more words then just heil, so how about we just stop using the entire german vocabulary? And, of course, the translations as well.
