Join the new world

a poem that I wrote down on the way back from work because there is nothing else to do on the bus except stare at the window and try and not to get mugged, seeing as how the Argentinian invasion has been the first major exciting war that I've experienced in my time here I seemed to have a lot inspiration for it, no I am not a poet, you'll be able to tell after reading it so begins my Ode to War:

They landed on our English shores
with glee in their eye's
With rumours abound of a golden road
to a land that was theirs by right
and through old Sussex they did march
and came the Saxons in their site
but with the Celtic Tiger at their side
the battle was theirs that night.

And while inch by inch they clawed their way
through the bloody countryside,
all the way trying to find,
where this promised road did lie
and as their eyes turned north,
they where but dismayed
to learn their Tiger now lay a kitten
that the Picts had thrown away

And While they set fire to London Bridge
to the West they heard the news
that Wexford town had fallen
and their own homeland to,
their celtic kitten now hid in a cave
for the oh how they feared
That the black and tans had risen
to take back what they hold dear.

And as they sat upon the hill
in this land they claim to own
from Belfast town to the Isle of Man
seeds of resistance did grow
their young lay at purgatories door
no promised land to call their own
no food to sake their hunger
nor no homeland of their own.

But still they carry on
for victory must still be in sight
the promised road lays around the bend
where-ever that bend does lie,
but woe behold this foreigner for that's
not the rules of the land
for the Polish huns have rallied
to lend the Saxon hand.

And woe behold the foreigner
in this our sacred lands
for the conquistadors will come
to wipe you from this land.
This was truly never your land you see
no golden road to find
only ruin, pain and despair will you receive
for Lady Britain she is mine.
