My manifesto for August LSD PP Elections

Day 997, 12:23 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by Hans Rienveld

As my first term as Party President is coming to a close I wanted to first look back at this term and then look ahead to hopefully my second term.

SHORT VERSION:
- Success in Congress Elections
- Re-writing Manifesto for V2
- Successful formation of government
- Made party administration more transparent
- Started dialogue with left-wing parties

And my closing comment:
Finally, I hope that all have seen that I am very active and very passionate about taking LSD forward. You will hopefully also have seen that I always intend to be a good ambassador for LSD in terms of my own personal behaviour and like to think I am respected amongst other parties.

Vote for me and you are voting for an even brighter future for the LSD!

LONG VERSION:

Current Term
I like to think I have been busy in my first term. I’ve started a number of things and directed the LSD towards certain directions which hopefully will be beneficial to the party in the near future. I will go through the items one by one.

Congress Elections
This was first on the agenda and I knew that with the right planning and organisation we could have a shot at becoming the biggest party in Congress.

I put my approach forward to you all in my To-Do list of 16th of July: “I will start an ‘advertising campaign’ a week before the elections asking all LSD-ers to make sure they will vote and another time 1 day before the elections and then on the day itself as well to maximise tactical voting.”

I sent the PMs as promised and on election day, with the help of volunteers, we achieved what I had been aiming for: together with I&W we became the biggest party in Congress.

This after it had proven very difficult, due to the holiday period, to get people to run for Congress and for people to vote. I like to think that the new voting priority sheet (http://tinyurl.com/384fx6m) I had created and the PMs I sent over the course contributed to getting the maximum out of the votes we had at our disposal.

Manifesto
I have also re-written the party Manifesto following the introduction of V2. This Manifesto can be read here: http://tinyurl.com/3y5t5gv

This Manifesto gives the LSD a clear direction and a recognisable face to the eUNL population. This proved to be useful during the formation process as you can read in the next paragraph.

Formation of government
I have also worked together with the formateur to form a government and after hard but good negotiations I managed to agree with Daniel Parker (IP) and Mitch Rapp (I&W) on a coalition government between our parties. In this government I managed to secure three ministerial positions and one SS position for LSD.

I also managed to secure the support of the coalition government for 4 (!) LSD manifesto pledges, namely: MoRC reform, UNLIN reform, eUNL army reform, referendum on name change of eUNL to eNL.

I also would like to point out that during those heated few days, when a lot was said, I managed to remain calm and to be a good representative for my party. Evidence of this is in my article I published during that time: http://tinyurl.com/3625eq2

Party Admin
I’ve also organised administration within the party which will give more transparency:

I created a voting record tracker where people can see how many Congress voting rounds their Members of Congress have participated in.

Furthermore I created an LSD Accounts sheet where all members can you how much money the party has and where this is being spent on.

(the links to these sheets can be found on the internal LSD forum as this is info only available to party members)

I have also purged the LSD Forum Member list. Deleting all members who were no longer LSD members of had quit eRep. The list now solely contains members of LSD plus a few old respected members who moved abroad.

Bringing the left-wing together
I have started a dialogue with Party Presidents of left-wing parties about coordinating our approach to the next CP elections. This as numbers have proved that if all left-wing voters voted for one candidate this candidate would win the CP elections. At the moment this is done via Tonie112 as he is our proposed candidate for the next CP elections.

This will also be the start of working more closely together with our colleagues on the left spectum of the political landscape. This new approach should start bearing fruit in the near future and will benefit the LSD.

Now looking to the coming term.
What are my plans? My goals are as follows:

- Get a left-wing CP into office
- Equal or better the seats in Congress
- Continue dialogue with parties on the left
- Introduce new advertising strategy for LSD

Finally...
