My Lottery-Type-Thingamabob
Marius Fynn
As I wasn't very clear (at all) in my earlier article, I would like to expand upon what I said before.
First, let me walk you through how I came about my idea.
When the eRepublik team announced that they were releasing an API, I jumped at the chance to sign up. I soon forgot about it, but suddenly I got an email inviting me to use the API. Naturally, I was very excited, and started thinking about what to make.
I first wanted to make a bank. I was thinking: "Ok, what might people like? Making more money? Yeah, ok, now how to get people to make money? A bank? Yeah, interest!"
Unfortunately, that plan collapsed when I decided that there wasn't any way that I could make a bank without a significant amount of capital.
So I was talking to my father about this API, and trying to make a bank, and we came up with what I now call my "Multi-Lottery."
The idea is this: Have multiple games running concurrently with different game styles, different payouts and different currencies.
For example, there could be a Chance game (buy a ticket, no input required, if your ticket is picked then you win a percentage of the total ticket sales for that round) with a 1 GOLD per ticket price running every day, and a Pick3 game (buy a ticket, when buying input 3 numbers, depending on the winning numbers you get a set amount of money) with a 10 THB per ticket price running weekly.
So I hope this has cleared up some confusion. If you think I've been too vague or confusing, please PM me or comment on this article.
Also, I've never intended to compete with the Thailand National Lottery or with the Housing for Homeless Pick 3 Game.

If you could create a website with multiplayer poker or blackjack with the API then Sign me up. The lotto thing isn't really anything new. It's been done without the API.
What type of payouts are you talking?
Payouts = Prizes, sorry bout that.
The API is only accepting Gold right now, but I believe they said that they'd be updating it to allow for more currencies.
And I don't care so much about the 3% fee right now, it might be a problem later on, but I'll deal with it then. Also, I don't want to spend the time to write my own API. I might in the future if needed, but so far, the API does what I want it to.
Yea, what will the prizes be and what will be considered a winner?
The prizes will almost definitely be the currency of the ticket, but there is the capability for games that pay out Gold when the ticket price is in baht, USD, etc.
What constitutes a winning ticket is dependent on the game. For example, what I call a Chance game, the server randomly picks three winners: a first place, a second place, and a third place.
But, for a Pick3 game, "grand prizes" (the highest amount for the game) are awarded to those who correctly pick all three numbers in the correct order. If they correctly pick all three in any other order, then they get a different amount.
Does that clarify things?
