My Departure From eRepublik: To the Two-Clicker Lifestyle

Day 616, 14:10 Published in USA USA by Chris Willson

Yes I know the title is shocking because I just got back from vacation but while being on vacation away from eRepublik for a while I've realized that RL is so much more important. I can't get anywhere here in eRepublik so why put so much time into it? There is no answer for that question except the response "You're right". I would call running a business, sending mass-PMs, and joining a bunch of groups here in eRepublik "work" but the fact is that no matter how much time you spend on here you're not accomplishing anything.

To all of the people who do put a lot of time into eRepublik, please remember RL. Try to balance your time out. The problem with me is that I couldn't balance my time out and if you can balance both out then I commend you.

This game has many aspects of it that can be somewhat addicting. Being on the IRC all day is great because you're talking to people but it can't compare to actually talking to somebody face to face. For some obvious things, working out in eRepublik doesn't make you any stronger in RL and working in eRepublik doesn't make you actual money (and the fact that you can spend RL money to get eRepublik money is pretty stupid in my opinion).

Therefore, I resign from being Ambassador to eHungary. I will help out the new Ambassador as much as possible. I resign from being Wing Commander of the eUSAF. I will assist the eUSAF as much as possible in the future and will train the new Wing Commander when he is appointed. I will need to stop making articles that translate Hungarian to English. Hopefully the next eHungary Ambassador will take up that job while working with Shino.

Here are the things I will continue to do: I will stay as Co-Manager of the eNova program. I fully trust that the eNova program will succeed and that it is worth working for (not that the Ambassador program and the eUSAF aren't worth it, they just take a lot of time). I believe the Futures program is valuable because our new citizens are the future of the eUSA. I will continue to serve in the eUSAF and the Marines. I will be able to check orders on a daily basis, it will just be for shorter periods of time (except when school starts, but then I'll be checking at the later part of the day which will be good also). I will continue to help any citizen that wants my help. I have given gifts, money, and food to multiple citizens that have requested my help and I will continue to serve all eUSA and Allied citizens. You have my allegiance.

Here are some of the values I've placed myself on and I hope that during these hard times that we can pull together and realize that these values are worth putting into practice:

1. Subscribe to eUSA newspapers where you know that they will use the money for the betterment of the eUSA. My newspaper is one of them. I have heard comments like "I only subscribe to newspapers that give out valuable information." and "My subscribe box will be full of newspaper articles that are worthless" well how about this: I won't be making any more newspaper articles! SUBSCRIBE TO THIS NEWSPAPER, NO HARM DONE! Even if your subscribe box is full of worthless stuff just look through the newspaper articles, memorize which newspaper's give out valuable information, and read only those. It's not that hard! Also, the most important newspaper articles are in the Top 20 anyways. Just go to the Community tab and go to news. It's all there.

2. The value of minimizing the political mudslinging is now looking fairly bleak since citizenship is now in place. Now it will probably intensify because there's not much fear of a PTO but be wary eUSA and Allies, I sense that PTOs will still be possible in some way.

3. Our allies are our most important asset. I will repeat this for as long as I live my eLife. eCroatia could've been a valuable asset to this current war if they weren't being destroyed in multiple ways (economy, military MPPs, etc). While they were getting PTOed we were too busy fighting over congressional seats. Now it will take a while for eCroatia to get back to it's former strength. I hope that in the future we can work together like we did these past elections in Canada and Croatia in the face of not only PTOs but in the face of issues in general. I commend everybody who participated abroad in the elections, including in France and Italy. I salute you O7.

4. Our new citizens are the future our the eUSA. I encourage everybody to join the eNova program (contact Ananias if you don't know about it) for its numerous programs but especially for the Futures Program. Donate to the new citizens, get them involved, teach them the tricks of the game, teach them how to help out, and answer any questions they have. They will become super soldiers and will be on their way to become Marines.

I know that this is long but please, read it all. You can contact me anytime, just send me a PM. I'll still respond to PMs also. Shouldn't take that long hopefully.. Haha.

Oh and to all of the people I have helped you're very welcome. It's the least I can do.

For the last time for at least a couple months, this is Chris Willson, proud Marine and proud eUSA citizen. Thank you for reading.
