My Congressional Experience

Day 734, 18:52 Published in USA USA by Tyler Bubblar

As my first term of Congress comes to a close, I thought this would be a good time to reflect on the last month. October 24th I won the election to occupy the Louisiana seat in the halls of Congress, as previously stated this was to be my first term in Congress. I was anxious, excited, and eager to get to work. My term did not start off the greatest, my daughter brought home a cold that turned into an ear infection that eventually ruptured her eardrum. On a side note her infection cleared up fine and she is doing great. I believe I can pinpoint the exact moment that my toddler gave me her illness. I was holding her as she was crying feverish and hurting from the infection, and she decided to shove a mucus covered fist right into my eye.

"Well here comes a week or more of misery", I thought to myself. Let me explain that a bit 4 years ago I was diagnosed with a hybrid cancer that is technically Lymphoma but also acts a great deal like leukemia. I have been cancer free for several years now but this illness left my immune system rather pathetic any little bug I get will have me in bed for weeks. I was right and wrong about the week or more of misery. I beat that cold in two days. However in the aftermath and euphoria of finally beating the cold virus so quickly, I began to notice some tightness and pain in my lungs and lower ribs. Viral Pneumonia had set up residence in my left lung. The next 7 days became a delirium blurred haze of pain and fever. This of course happened to be the first week of my congressional term.

When I returned still ill and in pain but at least coherent, there were PMs in my mail box Sydiot my committee head giving me a gentle reminder to check in for duty. I spent much of the next week or so feeling more than a little behind. I resolved to keep quiet and learn from the more experienced members of congress. I stuck with that for a while until it was brought to my attention that my silence was being interpreted as inactivity. Which could not have been further from the truth I spent hours everyday in the forums reading about the various issues the members of congress were dealing with.

I resolved to speak up especially about issues that I am passionate about. Some of those for example would be Slovakia, I sitll regret that we could not do more to help them fight off the initial invasion. Malaysia and Austria, PEACE may be officially dissolved but that just means the former bully nations of PEACE are simply marching under their own banners. Russia, Hungary, and Indonesia are casting greedy eyes on their weaker neighbors. They no longer even attempt to veil what their intentions and actions are: Greed and Imperialism are their espoused values.

I now come out of my first term of Congress with a great deal of respect for the eMericans who devote so much of their time and talents to the bettering of our eNation. Astra, Sydiot, Cerb, and many others are tireless and selfless in their devotion to eUSA. It is my hope and goal to one day be held in half the esteem that I have for them. I would like to give a special shout out to Seeker1 the 5 time Senator from Maine. Seeker has been a good friend and mentor, I would like to say thank you for that.

In closing I would like to thank the people of Louisiana for putting their trust in me this past month to represent them in Congress. I am running for re-election to continue to do so. I intend to take the lessons of this last month and apply them diligently for the betterment of our nation.

God Bless America
