mulderpf for congress!!

Day 732, 17:28 Published in South Africa South Africa by mulderpf

I am putting my name up for running in congress for the next term on behalf of the Gold Party and I will be running in the Eastern Cape.

This decision is based on the fact that I have become more active in the forums and I believe that being in congress is the next level of involvement in eSA.

Some of the things I stand for

Even though I am a business owner, I stand largely by the fact that if you have happy citizens, business should automatically become successful. Especially on the economic side of things, policy usually favours either the citizen or the business first. I support policy that is best for our citizens and believe that once we get that right, business will thrive.

In terms of economics, I believe that greater competition in the marketplace is always a good thing for the consumer as long as there is not over-production. I do not believe in being protectionist in our economy and by allowing foreign competition in our markets, it will allow our citizens to have the best products available at the lowest prices. This also stimulates the economy by pumping much needed gold into RBSA. There isn't much I want to say with regards to VAT & income taxes, other than it should be kept at the current low levels because the country doesn't need much more at the moment. Once we determine the need for more, I would reconsider my position on this.

The stability of our economy is key when we want to grow and I believe that this stability has been achieved in the strength and stability of our currency. By having stability in our currency, we can plan for the for the future and thereby sustain growth.

If I am voted into congress, the above is what I would like to see maintained.

So now that you know what my views are, why should you vote for me?

* I am an active member in the eSA community
* I am all for participative discussion. I will try to understand every point of view and believe that this makes me understand everyone better.
* I have proven that I am not just a greedy GM by actually listening to what my workers have to say
* I will speak up if, I either don't understand something or it seems like someone else doesn't understand something and try to resolve it so that everyone's on the same page

That's about it - if you have any other questions that I left unanswered, please feel free to ask them and I'll do my best to answer them.

Best regards
mulderpf

EDIT: Anyone that's interested in voting for me, but can't get to the Eastern Cape, please contact me for moving tickets - I will provide you with return tickets to the Eastern Cape to vote for me.
