Mr. NFRonny goes to Brussels - Part 10

Day 1,302, 07:04 Published in Belgium Belgium by NicknameFromRonny
First an editorial message. Ten editions far, so a bit of a jubilee. This means I've got a bit of a concours. If you feel artistic, I'm searching for someone to create a nice banner for this newspaper, which containts "The New Spaper", a moose and "NFRonny". No further limitations (apart from normal size) so go hog wild. If I like it, it will be rewarded with one Gold. Nice opportunity for all the artists here.

Anyways, here is the...

News on our MPPs

Oh, hi there, I'm your page 3 girl. (PS: Queen empress, you may always send someone through if you have a preference)

All seems quite and chill in the Venezuelan landscape. The flowers are prospering, birds are whistling a happy tune and soldiers are resting, according to our local reporter.
For the Hungarians, these are less quiet times. Their parade throughout the French landscape is going extremely well, since they haven’t lost a battle and are heading towards a 8 to 0 in the Limousin region. But a resistance war in the Alsace is slowing their advance, as it is becoming a nail biter. They are also losing the region of Burgenland to Austria in a close battle. For the French, this would only be a minor consolation since they are losing the Loire at the same time as the seventh Polish colony.

European war TTT

* Bulgaria and Turkey are fighting over the Caucasus. It appears to be a harsh nut for the Turks, who are behind on minibattles.
* This can also be explained by the several RWs in the Turkish empire, in which Russia and Ukraine are trying to break free.

* Lithuania is keeping down the small Belarusian revival.
* Estonia conquered Norway and focuses again on the Finnish regions that liberated themselves in the meanwhile. There is little doubt that this will end with another victory for ABC.

ONE had another good day, since they are not only giving the French a spanking but also:
* Is Spain still having a walk on the wild side throughout the USA, they are virtually waterboarding the Americans.
* Romania desperately tries to chase the ONEtroops of their native soil, but Serbia appears to be a too strong opponent in Crisina.
* Canada attempts to RW the territories back that they are losing to Sweden.
* The Greek have been defeated by Macedonia.

Last but not least some info on the lads from across that strip of water that we call the Channel. Great-Britain might have a chance on victory in the war against Ireland after taking over Shannon and Wexford. In an attempt for peace, the Irish might have made a mistake and launched a reaction of UK CP jamesw saying that he “hereby declare(s) that until we receive an official apology for this outrageous action, as well as a unanimous surrender, we will be continuing our war with Ireland”.

The NETW

Well, actually, it’s not that silly.

A time table has been created and put before congress (which you can see as eBelgian on our forums) by CP Mittekemuis. The current vote is 13 in favour, 5 against and three neutral votes. It seems that this proposal will make it and that we are heading towards a war.

My view: I have voted against, but I have been won over for the idea of the NETW. Although the main frame of the proposal has my approval, I still miss an exact date and some assurance which explains my “no”. There is no news on the extra region for the congress as well, which is probably due to their Irish victory.
Anyway, it seems that it will pass and I hope the shortages will be solved before the plan is put to reality. Despite everything, I must congratulate those who arranged the war since I couldn’t have guessed it would be created a week ago.

A new MPP

I can also say that a replacement for the Hungarian MPP (which finishes in three days) is being sought for by our government. A few options are still open, some more concrete then others. As soon as something can be made public, I will be your source. All I can say on a personal note, is that I will keep my views on neutrality in the way I have promised to you twenty days ago.

Lower Income Taxes

A cartoon always does the trick.

The proposal by Goopypants on the reduction of the income tax to 1% has been voted down 10 to 5 in a unofficial vote. Despite (or because of) this result, it remains unclear if there will be changes in the tax policy.

My view: It is a pity this has not received more attraction since I still believe that this would advantage the smaller players. I will attempt to revive the debate and if necessary to put on a vote in-game.

Belgian Training Academy

Welcome!

I have entered the following proposal into our Congress:

“At the point a person in the BTA reaches a strength of 750, he will be given the opportunity to "graduate". This means that the offer will be given to choose between
> Joining BAF (which will allow him to enter unless the BTA-MUleader gives a negative evaluation of that person).
> Staying in the BTA till they reach strength 1000
When the strength of 1000 is reached, he will once again get the choice.
> Joining BAF
> To leave the BTA but will of course be asked and motivated to stay in the community.”

It has opened debate and counterproposals which are a bit to wide to insert in this newspaper. You ‘re more then welcome to join the debate here

My viewI proposed this to connect the BTA with the larger eBelgian society, of which the army is a fundamental part. On the other hand we can see that an inflow of young players in BAF will keep it fresh and raise it numbers. With the current equal workers production, it will not mean a loss. Although I’m a fan of what I proposed, I’ll be glad to take a look into other proposals with the same spirit.

Party President

Who can handle the party?

I’ll finish this edition with a short introduction on the candidates for Party President.

BfB: An astonishing amount of six candidates here. Glenn Wauters is favourite by far due to his experience in both the Belgian political field and in BfB. The other candidates are BAF member Xironn and four BTAyoungsters: Hugo Bilbo, Bilbo10, Florian Eloot and Baltaz.
Res Belgica: Oldtimer Shadowukcs is the only candidate.
ULA: Fhaemita Malodorous seems to be heading for a second term. I would be surprised if Ahakas or Phantoome, two new kids on the block without a lot of political voice so far, could make it against this experienced player.
ATO: After last month, it might be a second term for Jofroi in the All Togethers party. Or can our young ones, Greysash and Matamouros, capture their first crown?
UBIP: One candidate, the inspired Monsieur Guillontine.

Without much further ado...
