Moving 10 days on

Day 1,083, 01:53 Published in Canada Canada by Etemenanki

Well it was an interesting election the other day was it not folks? As you are all aware our new Prime Minister is Fox Blutch. So far we have all gotten to work on the hard business of building a government and getting things continuing on their way. A couple of interesting things of note recently.

The admins decided to finally remove the four types of training and go back to the simple one way form of Strength. This should have an interesting impact on the weapon companies, since now instead of competing only with the other companies that create their particular form of weapon; they are competing against every other single company that creates a weapon. So remember, don’t just buy the cheapest tank you can find, buy the cheapest weapon of that quality you can find.

The admins have also announced recently that houses will stop producing double their wellness on November 8th. This is important to all of you whom use houses to boost back up your health after battles like I do. Now onto the voting stuff.

Votes

1) Do you agree with the proposal to issue 37000 CAD for 185 GOLD? This was a vote put up shortly after the congressional elections in which Rolo was elected. It was not discussed in congress and did not conform to the budget so was required to be voted down. General belief is that this vote was done to attempt to lock up the 185 gold that was in the treasury for 24 hours, perhaps stopping the on going war in the UK. Voted No. Motion failed.

2) National Chat Room? Not sure where this one came from. My general guess would be that it was an experience vote. None the less it was not discussed in congress, so we were again required to vote it down. Voted No. Motion failed.

3) Tax change: Hospital (no change)? As this had no change what so ever in any tax rates, but was proposed none the less, I imagine it was little more than an experience vote. Voted no. Motion failed.

4) Tax change: Grain (No change)? Another tax proposal in which nothing was set to change, so another experience vote I believe. Voted no. Motion failed.

5) Do you agree to transfer 946 GBP from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? We have been quite diligent recently in attempting to clear out the foreign currency from the treasury. This would be one of the many votes done that was for that purpose. You would bperhaps be surprised how much gold is located in this foreign currency. Voted yes. Motion Passed.

6) Do you agree to transfer 522 RSD from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? As I said, we are working hard to clear out the foreign currency from the treasury. We will never get it emptied, but in the end that is a good thing since it means the treasury is active and constantly having money from outside of the country invested into it. Voted yes. Motion Passed.

7) Tax change: Food (Import 99% to 97😵? Another experience vote I presume, but why one would happen so early in the term is unknown to me. Voted no. Motion failed.

8.) Do you agree to transfer 386 PLN from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? As the de facto Minister of Finance this term, I took the time to put together a spread sheet for congress in which all foreign currencies are listed, their exchange rates, and how much we have in the treasury. In this way congress can propose to clear out the most valuable currency, not just the one with the highest denomination. Voted yes. Motion Passed.

9) The President of United Kingdom demanded a sum of 180 gold from your National Treasury in return to a peace treaty with Canada.? The UK attempted to lock up our gold for 24 hours because we were kicking their butts. Thankfully this is why the bulk of our gold is not kept in the treasury. At any point, a country can do this to another country, locking all of the gold in that country up for 24 hours. With careful timing, it can be done over and over, perhaps bringing a country to it’s knees. This same tactic cannot be done to the CAD that is located in the treasury though, so there is no harm to keeping those funds in the treasury. Voted No. Motion failed.

10) Tax change: Food (99% import to 98%, 11% income to 10😵? Another test of the tax rates. Much talk was done in congress as to the need to drop the cost of food in the Canadian market as food prices were spiking. My personal belief is that this is a culmination of a couple of different variables. First would be the excessive amount of war going on in the world, in which those in Canada have had weeks now of constant battle, depleting the Canadian market of it’s reserves, leaving only that which is produced daily to cover the citizens and armies of this country. Second in this impact would be the simplification of the war module, making it far more likely for those of a country to be involved in battle. A natural decline in both of these draws are bound to happen though as countries either complete their wars, or more likely, citizens deplete their cash reserves and can no longer afford to fight, there fore eat, as much as previously, allowing companies to build up a healthy reserve again, thereby dropping prices. Voted No. Motion failed.

11) Do you agree to transfer 461 NLG from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? The next logical currency to transfer out. I told you we were working hard on this particular thing. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

12) Do you agree to transfer 665 GBP from the country accounts to National Bank Of Canada? My thanks goes out to all those in congress who have been putting their votes to this clearing out of foreign currency. In my months in congress, I can honestly state that no equal amount of effort has ever been put in place for a project such as this. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

13) President of Finland proposed a mutual protection pact with Canada? Finland may be a small country, and may not present a large number of battles for Canada to become involved in, but they are none the less an ally of ours, and have served us well in the past. It only seems right that we should support them. Perhaps if we did not believe that they may be at threat we could stop our MPP renewal with them, but until then. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

14) Do you agree to transfer 24060 CAD from the country accounts to Canadian National Defense? A weekly allotment of CAD sent to the CAF to cover costs for the month, plus a 1500 CAD allotment to the TCO for their efforts for the Canadian public. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

15) President of Canada proposed a mutual protection pact with Croatia? Croatia is a large and important country militarily in EDEN, and it only strikes me as prudent that we would continue to support them in their efforts. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

16) Do you agree to transfer 653 SEK from the country accounts to National Bank Of Canada? I told you we had a lot of this stuff built up in the treasury. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

17) President of Canada proposed a mutual protection pact with Romania? Romania is another one of those large and important countries in EDEN. Why would we not want to be involved in their protection, and assault on other countries for that matter. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

1😎 Do you agree to transfer 12000 CAD from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? This was a mistake done by a congressman. He misread the foreign currency chart and did not understand that the CAF transfer had already happened. As such I voted it down, though I am unsure why this motion passed, as all those in congress should have read the link, in which it was stated NOT to vote yes, assuming they were not already aware of the previous CAD transfer for the CAF. Voted No. Motion Passed.

19) Tax change: Grain: Import Tax from 99% to 30%, Income Tax from 11% to 15%? As I talked about up above in number 10, congress has been debating for some time now about dropping import taxes here in Canada. This was the first such motion put forward to begin the process, and was so decided because it is hoped to help lower the price of Grain in Canada, and consequently the price of food which has been said to be rising in Canada. As to the Income Tax raise, it was decided that we in Canada have one of the lowest income tax rates in the eworld by a considerable margin. As such, and because we have recently had almost all of our reserve stolen and lost recently, it was discussed and debated for some time to increase our income tax rate. Personally, I am in favour of the raise in regards to income tax, but opposed to the Import tax lowering. I have always been a believer in our closed market system, and see no reason why it should be changed. I believe that our high wage helps to offset our high cost of goods, but also that it helps to keep our money in Canada, as opposed to sending it elsewhere in the world. Voted No. Motion Passed.

20) Tax change: Oil: Import Tax from 99% to 30%, Income Tax from 11% to 15%? See number 19. Voted No. Motion failed.

21) Tax change: Stone: Import Tax from 99% to 30%, Income Tax from 11% to 15%? See number 19. Voted No. Motion Passed.

22) Tax change: Moving Tickets: Income Tax 11% to 15%? One of the things discussed in congress in regards to the tax changes was to only lower the import tax rate on resource materials, and not finished goods. Since I believe in a closed market, I see this as a good thing. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

23) Tax change: Foo😛 Income Tax 11% to 15%? See number 22. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

24) Tax change: House: Income Tax 11% to 15%? See number 22. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

25) Do you agree to transfer 168 USD from the country accounts to National Bank of Canada? And finally the last foreign currency donation for this past 10 days. So far in the past 30 days or so, our foreign currency transfers have netted us an increase of over 100 gold. That is pretty impressive considering it mostly comes in a couple hundred in value for each currency. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

Congress Stuff.

Speaker: It was a brand new term in congress once again, so the Speaker of the house was up for grabs. Once again Chochi threw his hat into the ring. I believe that many people were happy to support him as he did an impressive job last term. The wrinkle that did come up though was when Congressman Nosyt proposed Goran Thorax for Speaker. The wrinkle here is that Goran is not a current member of congress. In a quick check of the constitution, it would seem that there is nothing holding anyone save a few specific individuals holding specific titles from holding the position of Speaker. This would include foreigners. In the end this matter was brought to the Supreme Court, and ruled upon by the Speaker and his deputies. This incident brought a glaring hole in the constitution to light. None the less congress re elected Chochi again to the position of Speaker, and all seems to be going quite well.

Taxes: If you look above too number 22 and number 19, you will see that I talk a lot about the increase in income tax, and the decrease in import tax. I am in favour of the increase in income tax, and opposed to the decrease in import tax. Much of my rationale is talked about there.

Other Stuff

Been pretty quiet the past couple of days to be honest with you. We have been kicking UK ass and are still holding onto several of their territories and it does not appear that things are going to change. The trial against Rolo has moved on to the next stage, plus some other people have decided to exercise their right to start trials against other individuals on the forums. It appears that despite on going wars, people are starting to get bored again. I have to wonder what they are going to do to relieve said boredom though.

Well I have presented the Prime Minister with a test budget this morning, and I imagine I and the cabinet are going to take the next couple of days to go over it and work out some of the details before we sent it off to congress to let them take a look at it, and then with some luck either approve it, or do some minor changes before it is passed and we can move onto the next stage of things.

Oh yes, I nearly forgot. When I took over as the Minister of Income and Labour last term, I started to keep a detailed eye on the treasury as well as various government controlled organizations. All of this information is public record and openly available to you the public, so I see no need to keep it secret from you the public now that we have moved on to the next months spread sheet. I thought this information might prove useful to you the public and help enlighten as to what the government does. Just check the link below.
