Join the new world

I've been mildly inactive these past few days. I have had a lot on my plate in both RL and on the game.First of all, I have some news to address-
1. California's State Government Post-V1
As many of you may know, I was the last Mayor of Sacramento in Beta. The system has been abolished. However, as the last Mayor I feel it is my duty to inform you, that your hard earned tax dollars will NOT go to waste. We have created the California Department of Finance SO to manage the state's treasury funds that I rescued from being transferred to the feds the day before beta went down.Now some updates on our programs.The California National Guard was a failure. The main problem with the idea of supplemental military pay was that a) The federal military pay system doesn't work. Many people who did apply never got paid (including myself), plus the number of applicants is also very low. b) Low donations and participation rates made the program unnecessary. I announce we will cut the program immediately and divert the funds to other causes. rockenrebel83 will no longer be serving me as an advisor. It was not his fault at all, he kept detailed balance sheets, but he was unable to make people actually apply for the pay system. He might work with me in the DoRD or another post later on.The California State Lottery - All donation records had been wiped out. Hopefully, Joshua Steel still has your ticket requests. I do not know what is going on with that, its all been hectic and RL issues have kept him from getting it all oriented as well, but it should be running smoothly once we all get acquainted with V1.California Health Service - As far as I know it is running smoothly and almost 100% on donations. Vincent Garibaldi had planned as well to start a food bank for this program to donate food and other items to needy Californians.California Department of Immigration - I'm not sure of the status of this yet. I will update you when we get it going if we do get it going. lwarrior1 still manages this.California Finance Department - This is managed by Harry Callahan. He will be in charge of the state treasury and the funding of various programs we do have in place, as well as solicting donations from all Californians because, now that V1 is here, we are a donation-based private organization until we get federal funding (if any, from the DoRD). 2. Bomb the Gifts Industry!
Due to recent market meltdowns, we have been unable to sell our ever-growing stock. So we are liquidating it. If you work for the company, PLEASE DO NOT QUIT. If we do not have the cash on hand to pay you, please be patient. I will inject some of my own funds if needed. This is a temporary situation caused by my 2-day inactivity and the implementation of V1 along with the crash in the price of Q2 gifts. We have 243 products on the market now and we should be working in the black within the next day or two. The way a company is managed in V1 has changed a bit, and I'm still just getting used to some of the menus. All will be well soon.
3. Department of Regional Development
Although the status of the President is uncertain. He resigned, then was impeached, but still shows up? WHAT? I will continue the DoRD. If you applied for a job, I have your message and have contacted you. I will put out a few more applications and fill only the positions I get people willing to do. I will take care of whatever is left. If we can get federal funds under a new President, I will do it. I will create an organization to manage this Department very soon as well. We will finnally have it up and running soon.I will be announcing a DoRD IRC meeting once I get everyone in the department who applied a position. We will then be discussing all of our ideas and brainstorm on how to get this done and help out regions preserve their autonomy in V1. 4. The Sacramento Bee
I was contemplating a name change, but I probably won't do it anymore. I will resume job classifieds if it is needed, but instead I will list employers looking for workers, as the new system works to the benefit of the employee who only has to find the employer and apply and they have it.If any employers want to list a help wanted ad here, we have 37 subscribers by my last count and many more readers. PM me and I will start running help wanted ads again every Saturday or Sunday depending on my schedule. 5. Jefferson Steelflex for Congress
Attention RfC members! I am announcing my intent to seek reelection for Congress! I will come up with a list of reasons why I am worthy of keeping my job as a congressman in a later article. However, my achievements with Sacramento and my fighting corruption in the past speak for themseleves. Congress entails greater responsibilities now, and I entrust that you will continue to support me, former Mayor, RfC VP and Congressman Jefferson Steelflex. That is it for now. Just letting people know all things going on in my eRepublik life as some are pertinent and official, and others are not.
