More Into O'residency

Day 622, 20:06 Published in Japan Denmark by Oraizan

Vote Oraizan on the fifth for President! (Yes, I AM running again!)

What I Have Done

I started my career before even being voted into congress, changing Japan. I used my milestone gold in my early days to donate to people, so that they could afford having a newspaper. This was my way of making Japan more active in the media (the media was a lot more dead then today). My first accomplishment, and something I am always proud of.

I ran my first campaign on wanting to grow and learn more, and over the 4 terms I have learnt a lot. Being able to grow into a great candidate and use my experience was my short-term goal.

I started becoming very active in politics around congress time. I was one of the only people at the time who posted on every topic in the old forum. I tried to bring out my opinions to congress and encourage discussion.

My immediate goal was to have the citizens voices heard.

As I gained experience and was brought onto Cabinet, I tried to keep my goal of making citizens more active. The start was with Empress Day. It makes the media more active, and encourages new citizens to do the same.

Once Empress Day was settled, I began to work with the rest of the members on many different things. Starting with reforming the entrance for the army with Geno, to reforming the Foreign Affairs (before I was MoFA).

Once appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs I expanded the section and straightened everything out. I established Ambassadors and embassy's in foreign country forums, and contacted most country presidents. I joined all IRC's, and all forums myself as well. Currently I retain great relations in most countries, and with PEACE. This way, Japan is a respected nation across the globe.

More recently I was part of the negotiation for the PEACE vs USA situation, and I did my best to have Japan as safe as possible. I am very happy to say that the situation did not hurt Japan on a large scale, which was the goal we set out for. I was able to bring Japan as much as possible for it's loss.

and much MUCH more!

What I have found

Having the opportunity to join in on other country debates and observe them was a huge learning opportunity. I was able to accurately see how well other countries are doing compared to Japan, and how their government works. Not only that, but I was also able to expand their thinking and debate, even if just a little.

What I have seen is that Japan is in a good place. There are countries who DO NOT debate, who do not talk to other people in government, and do not watch their country as closely as we do. This was strange to me, but it also gave me a proud feeling that we are running our country in a great way. Simply watching and keeping the monetary market as safe as possible is a huge step up compared to some countries. Though not doing what we do is not a fault for them, it is still amazing for us to go the extra mile.

I have also been able to learn that the military really IS the center for activity among citizens. Don't get me wrong, it is not the only aspect in eRepublik. But, everything else is activated with it, whereas debating a change in the monetary market does not affect very much.

The more powerful and active an army is, the better the country is. This is true with large countries like Indonesia and Hungary, and true for small countries like Austria and Chile. The only thing that is missing in the countries that have the active army is a good leader.

Debates are needed by congress for the military. Discussion is the root for activity. The more weapons that are bought, the better the economy will be. Gifts and food will follow. The monetary market will stabilize and have a nice spurt of activity. Everything follows the military. Look at the PEACE vs USA situation. Business went crazy and came out of their slump, congressmen and citizens signed up on the forum just to be in conversations. Before everything was finalized very few congresspeople were in discussion.

I was able to meet some very interesting citizens, and retain elife long friendships with them. Old citizens like TheFallenMage, Lavanche, Okkius, Glados, etc. People who have much more experience then me, I have been able to learn from. Though this is not a selling point for voting for me, it is important. Being able to have experienced advisors who know and have been able to run a country is something that will help in the long term. It is just as important as retaining good relations with other countries

I was able to work with many people and expand my knowledge of game mechanics. I have experience in every aspect of eRepublik. I have managed a company, I am watching over taxes, I have been involved in Politics since the beginning, I can accurately and neutrally debate and make compromise, and most of all I am active. Though I am not perfect and never will be, I have the experience that I believe can push Japan further.

What I want to do
Continue on activating people. That will always be number one on my to-do list. Congress needs to make decisions faster, debate more, and push to have a strong country. We need more activities and more growth.

Finalize the army and make it more functional. As I said before, it is the center for activity and for Japan to grow we should also be able to defend against attacks in the future. Although this is more the Secretary of Defense's job, as President I want to help push it along.

Educate, educate, educate. Although we already have a mentoring program, I would like to set up interested people with more experience and help them learn one area of their expertise better. That way we have more citizens who know all aspects of Japan and eRepublik. In the past debating taxes and economy have been troubling because not many politicians actually understand how they work. Although this is a tricky subject to teach, I would like to see more citizens with the understanding. This will be one of my main goals for the first month, because I believe that it will help Japan in the long run.

More structure for debates. Although people do not like to have rules for debating, we need a way that we are able to effectively debate. One way will be the president (myself) pushing for debate. There is a lot more that can be done though. People can be shown how to debate more effectively and shown the logical approach to debate. Whether they follow it or not, learning and being able to bring out those in the community is the number one way to bring out activity and keep them interested.

Unify. I want Japan to turn back to what it was Kokawa's first term president. Although Japan was not fully unified (some more outspoken were unhappy), I feel that we have lost that unity. I wan't to bring it back.

Japan used to be a place where even enemies can work together, but it has changed. People like Origineel and Akki were able to work together despite their differences, to better Japan. This is the Japan I love and respect, and this is the Japan I want it to be again. We are turning too controversial for all topics. Debate turns into slander very easily. We need to turn the corner forget our past and move on. I can't say I am speaking for the rest of Japan, but I personally am sick of it. Although this is a game, there is important ettiquette we need to keep in mind.

Taste

This was just a little taste of my past, present, and future. There is a lot more I could say, but these should be some of the main highlights for you to enjoy. I hope that it has given you a good idea of how I will be as your president, and possibly make your mind up for voting Oraizan!

Clean Campaign

Although some of my opposed supporters have turned their campaign in another direction, I promised from the beginning that I will keep it clean. I want to remind the rest of you that I am sticking to that promise. I also would like to ask my supporters to be kind to the others. Neutrality is the best way to go about politics, and I believe we can all be that way despite what is thrown at us. Thank you those people who have been appreciative, it is wonderful.

Let's finally turn that corner Japan,
Always yours,
Oraizan

P.S
Develop the mind of equilibrium.
You will always be getting praise and blame,
but do not let either affect the poise of the min😛
follow the calmness, the absence of pride.
