Montana: A Weekly Update

Day 530, 16:04 Published in USA Ireland by Tyler Jenkins

Good afternoon fellow Montanans and eAmericans. It has now been a week since I was elected to represent our great state in Congress and time for me to fulfill one of my promises while running for this position. My promise was to keep my constituents, as well as all eAmericans, updated with information regarding my doings in Congress.

======================================== ==============================

My Voting Recor😛

1- (04/26/09) Tax Change Foo😛 No

It was proposed that income taxes on food be changed from 20% to 50%, while lowering the VAT from 3% to 1% as well as import tax from 28% to 1%. You will never see me vote yes for a raise in income taxes or a lowering of import taxes on an item such as food.

2- (04/26/09) Donate 49053 from eUSA accounts to the Congressional Budget Office:
Yes

3- (04/26/09) New Citizen Message: Yes

A new message was proposed by President scrabman that would welcome new citizens.

4- (04/27/09) Issue Money-200000 USD for 1000 Gol😛 Yes

5- (04/28/09) Alliance with Germany: Yes

Germany is a key member of Atlantis, so this was a no-brainer.

6- (04/28/09) Speaker of House Vote: Cromstar

This was a tough choice as Claire Littleton and Killing Time were my other choices. Both were qualified choices as well, however, having worked with Cromstar before and because of his seniority and activity within Congress, he was my choice.

7- (04/28/09) Trade Embargo with Indonesia: Yes

Simply put, while we are war against PEACE, I do not believe we should be doing business with Indonesia.

8- (04/29/09) Donate 99999 USD to Congressional Budget Office: Yes

9- (04/28/09) Alliance with South Africa: Yes

South Africa has been in a very intense struggle with Indonesia and PEACE, and thus, I believe they deserve our support.

10- (04/29/09) Donate 99998 USD to Congressional Budget Office: Yes

11- (04/29/09) Trade Embargo with Hungary:
Yes

Same reason as #7.

12- (04/29/09) Tax Change Diamonds: No

The proposal was to raise both the import and income taxes on diamonds, however I could not support the hike in income taxes from 20% to 30%.

13- (04/30/09) Alliance with Poland Yes

Poland has been a good ATLANTIS member and therefore deserves our support.

14- Tax Change Weapons: No

It was proposed that taxes be raised on weapons in both the income and VAT categories. Again, I am against raising income taxes on products from their current percentages, and especially not on weapons when the threat of war is looming. I did not believe we should take advantage of the citizens need for weapons and try to bring in more money under these circumstances.

15- Donate 1200 RON to Congressional Budget Office: Yes

16- Tax Change Gifts: Yes

This proposal was to lower the VAT on gifts from 3% to 1%.

17- Peace Treaty with Mexico: Yes

Other Information:

* I have been selected to sit on the Government Oversight Committee and have begun working on legislation that will, hopefully, make our government a little more transparent to it's citizens. I believe it is utmost important that our citizens remain aware to it's leaders doings so that we can better serve our constituents and the eUSA as a whole.

* There has been talk of looming war and rumors have been spread near and wide concerning what may/may not be taking place. This said, it is important to follow all the information give to you in the White House briefings.

======================================== ==============================

As always, should you have any questions, issues, or advice, I am always available to you. Feel free to drop me a message anytime or I can often be found on irc in either #usa-chat or #congress.

Thank you all for your constant support.
