MoF Update

Apologies for not releasing an article earlier to update on the status of the robbery.
In short Rikian has been putting in a lot of effort speaking with the admins regarding our funds that were stolen. But to no avail, we are not getting anything back.
This is a serious blow to our finances.
In total 2.3m IEP worth of gold and IEP has been stolen and just over 1m remains.
The government finances were run like a university endowment fund. With the capital held in the orgs to trade the markets. The objective was to make enough money trading to keep Boot Camp and the tank program going without touching the capital.
With a seriously depleted capital value our income will also be seriously down, changes to the tax rates and/or spending programs may be need to rebuild our finances.
But unfortunately I will have to leave that task to someone else as I will be resigning as MoF.
My role as MoF was to protect the finances of the state for the long-term and in that regards my term was an abject failure.
I enjoyed my time in the DoF and hope programs like the rockets for BC can be maintained once our finance improve.
The security weakness was not caused by my actions but I should have done more to protect our finances.
For that I am eternally sorry to all eIrish citizens, past and future.

One thing about mistakes, even expensive ones like this, is that we must learn from them.

Sad to see you go. You understood our financial system and it will be hard to find a good replacement. You also put in a lot of effort which doesn't go unnoticed.

Hmm. Must say that's very disappointing particularly as there is no responsibility addresses to your door and the fact that you saved 1m by timely action.
We seem to be going backwards as a nation at the moment
the Mistakes were made by the previous CP/Administration being slack with passwords and giving access to the main Cash Orgs to people who had no need for it.
You should reconsider your decision as no blame for the password issue/theft has been attributed to you.
Thefts areworse part of the game. They make the good guys want to quite. Sorry to see you go.

Please reconsider DE, no one's blaming the MoF for what happened. Blame begins and ends with the scumbag who committed the theft, not yourself.
I'd like to give MoF a shot as well considering I have actually been actively learning about how the system works.

Agree....DE was not in position to stop the theft but his reaction was brilliant preventing total disaster...

It wasn't your fault orgs were robbed, you couldn't prevent that, in fact you probably saved eIreland from total destruction since you managed to save 1mil. I can't tell you what to do, but I think that you should reconsider, you have more than proved yourself capable in the position

You are not responsible. The person responsible is the one who stole the money.
Wouldn't blame the guy for quitting tbh. Better to do it now and not waste any of his life trying to clean up a mess made by the incompetence of others.
