Ministry of Defense Announcement
Igor Thunderbrow
Daoine na hÉireann,
First of all I would like to congratulate the many new recruits for the IDF over the past few days. The number of new faces committing themselves to defending their nation is fantastic and speaks volumes for the patriotism of the eIrish people. I have now finalised the official positions within the army and I will announce them below. Before that however I wish to thank all unsuccessful applicants for applying, there were three factors I looked at when choosing the officers (in descending order):
a) Past Commitment and Involvement in the eIrish Community
b) Willingness to fight abroad
c) Past Battle Experience
I hope that no one is too disappointed about missing out on a position and I would encourage all unsuccessful applicants to join my team of advisors in the Military Council; just send me a message stating your intention to help out and you will be included in all further departmental discussion.
Now I proudly present the officers that will be in command of IDF Battalions at home and abroad. Each Commanding Officer commands a battalion, there are currently 6 battalions, 5 based on the region where its soldiers reside and the other being the elite Army Ranger Wing.
Commanding Officers:
Army Ranger Wing, Emilio Largo
1st Infantry [Dublin]; BobaFett
2nd Infantry [Cork and Kerry] Sean Greene
3rd Infantry [The Northeast] Irish_rebel
4th Infantry [The Shannon] Gordongekko
Combined 5th and 6th Infantry [Southeast and Northwest] Kevin Hutchison
A regularly updated list of IDF members and commanding officers can be found at url=http://www.erepublik-ie.com/IDF/defence.php]http://www.erepublik-ie.com/IDF/defence.php[/url.
Glaine ár gcroí, neart ár ngéag agus beart de réir ár mbriathar
(The cleanliness of our hearts, the power of our limbs and commitment to our promis)
Go raibh míle maith agaibh,
Igor Thunderbrow

Am I missing something?
What do you mean?
Check the recent Ministry of Defense articles mac. There have been a few changes since you took a small leave.
Cheers
There are no names for the 2nd third and fourth infantries.
Definatley a trick of the eyes mac... its not like I edited it on the sly 😃
Sorry about that...
Sam, Sean, whatever.
Oh no, Sean. LOL
Igor is just not the best editor.
Hmm.. Can I change my division name to the 1st Semi-Mechanized Division? Just for the fun of it. 🙂
I couldn't get the documents to work. It kept bringing me to no document page.
Same with me. Igor linked me to a different page when I asked about the roster earlier, but it hasn't been updated with all of the new recruits that have signed up recently so I don't know if it is the right document or not: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=ddmq64qt_19f7mx95cz&hl=en
Why is the Southeast clumped together with another Region?
Not my brightest hour....
Here is the new... decidedly less faulty link...
http://www.erepublik-ie.com/IDF/defence.php
Sorry Sean... I know a Sam Green and got confused...
@Kevin: Okay.. why not 😃
@Zagarius: There are only about 2 people signed on from the Northwest and when I organised the divisions originally there was actually none so instead of having a division with only 2 members that would be little use... I combined them into a more decently sized division..
If Recruitment from Northwest spikes they will be seperated again, but that is unfortunatley unlikely as there are few active citizens in that region
Update: Link in article is now working.. sorry about this mess... I got back real late last night and thought I was okay but clearlyI was unfit for anything but sleeping... I am not usually this incompetant...

Ahhh...we loves ya, Igor!
@Igor, my name isn't capitalized. Come on man!!! 🙂
The numbers need to grow with only around twenty to thirty solders.
Also use the Irish names also
Sciathán Fianóglach an Airm - The Army Ranger Wing
Óglaigh na hÉireann- Irish Defense Forces
@enoofu: We are experiencing huge recruitment recently realistically we cannot get a much larger army than this considering our very small player base and we have 56 soldiers last time I checked... but don't let that stop you 😃
Also Irish names for Army wings.. I will start using them but I am a bit wary of people not having a clue what they mean... the vast majority of people here probably have never heard Irish spoken never mind have the ability to understand... but yeah, I will be bringing in Irish names over the next while.
@pdiddy : aaaaaaaaagh... you'll get over it 😃
*Also Irish names for Army wings*
Bain úsaid siad beirt. *Use both*
Beag ach Fiachmar comrades!
