Militias: The Better Alternative

Before I go on, I should tell you that these are all my personal opinions. They do not represent ST6 as an organization in anyway, or anything else associated with me. Other than NASA, screw NASA.
Don't tell me that's not inviting.
1. Upwards Mobility
Oftentimes, in the military, the members will sit in their positions for months, with little turnover. In this situation, military recruits can often remain at the lowest tiers of the military Chain of Command due to their superiors not resigning. This isn't the case in the ST6, if you work hard, and are active in the community (consisting of the forums and an IRC chatroom), you will get noticed and be able to quickly rise up the ranks.
2. Freedom Of Speech
Members of the military are often unable to say what they truly think of the military, without fear of being kicked out. A recent example of this was Dimension (before his tell-all article), he was trying to make constructive criticism, and was blocked from promotion. I think my platoon leader said it best, when I made sure publishing this article was alright:
"This isn't the mil, I don't need to proof-read all your articles for OPSEC."
3. Less Spam
While higher branches such as Airborne, and the Marines are often small enough that you know most of the people once you're included, in my stay in the Training Corps, I felt as though newer players could be lost in the waves of salutes, and hordes of people. Also, you won't find lines upon lines of o7, or
4. No Personal Bias on Entry Requirements
The members of the eUSA who went on the holy pilgrimage to Pakistan are being rejected from the military. Logs from tswell have been released on the forums, however I can't quote them here. Which brings to point 5.
5. INCI
Yeah, INCI is coming to stay with us. They are really cool guys, once you get to know them.
6. Avatar Borders
While this isn't a strong reason, if you're an artsy person, it's kind of a big deal. The ST6 borders look much better the the military borders, the eUS Military borders are in need of an update pretty soon.
7. Lack of Drama
Let's face it, the military is being lambasted recently, for a variety of their practices. This is a game, it shouldn't be a chore, and/or bitchfest. Just chill with us, the eUS forum won't yell at you on a constant basis. Why? Because we rely mainly on communes, without government funding, so to an extent, we can do whatever we want without repercussions.
Summary
Militias are best suited to a special kind of player, the individual. Let's make one thing clear, you will receive less supplies in the ST6 than you might in the eMilitary as a high strength player. However, in exchange you get to break free from the bonds of being a military drone. Have opinions. Participate in debates. Freedom, it's sweet.

The Offspring is the best. Just sayinnn
1-4 are untrue. I'm one of the most opinionated people on eRep, and I seem to get along just fine.
Hell Yes

Dell, i know for a *fact* number four is correct. Ask tswell.
I have seen militia members, including S6T members trying to get the Battle Hero in low total damage battle rounds BUY FIGHTIN FOR THE SIDE OPPOSED TO THE eUSA! Rounds that would have ended successfully in our favor have require THE MILITARY to intervene to save the round from the damage these militias cause in an effort to get a cheap medal and the 5 gold that goes with it.
IF there are some questions of accountability of the military, they are tripled in considering the responsible oversight and coordination of private militias.
jadiv,hey look at this: http://www.erepublik.com/en/military/battlefield/3986
The DoD and WHPR has specifically told the eUSA to fight for Mexico, but last round Speedcat was the BH for the right side, while the military, and Technician (A high strength military tank) were tanking for the wrong side of the battle. Interesting how that works.
Syrup on par I've seen far more instances of Militia fighting for the wrong side than I've ever seen the Military pull.
1 - 4 are total opinion. I suspect 5 was put into place only after lengthy discussion with iNCi. You guys didn't start taking them in until recently and soon they will have their own Militia/Military Unit.
6&7 are again Opinion.
1.) Not that many people have that much time in their day.
2.) National Security does exist and I shouldn't be allowed to say stupid stuff. And not all articles are read, jack rabbit.
3.) Yeah, the mil could use to be more open to conversation. Not like it's condemned, it's just not normal, I guess.
4.) That only happens occasionally. I don't have to like "mil guy A" to get in. Genius.
5.) Go ahead. But I wouldn't give an INCI member the rank of Major or higher if I were you. Insecure.
6.) Opinion again. Ours are more American, yours are more flashy. See? That's what you sound like. What does that even matter anyway?
7.) So do we rely on communes, mainly. As a member of the military, I know that there is very little drama. Just some ridiculous rules.
Have a nice day.
1. Upwards Mobility
It's all about how you go about it. In the eUS Cavalry I became a Senior Officer in a month and a half.
In the eUS Mobile Infantry, I became XO and member of the JCS in four months, then commander shortly thereafter. It's about hard work, inserting yourself into necessary slots and being active, vocal and involved.
Other than that, good article.

I'm looking at my regimental roster right now. Everybody who've I (or my branch) have promoted have been chosen based on activity on IRC/forums. Seniority is a secondary consideration when it comes to promotions for me.
2.
I essentially agree.
"While higher branches such as Airborne, and the Marines are often small enough that you know most of the people once you're included, in my stay in the Training Corps, I felt as though newer players could be lost in the waves of salutes, and hordes of people. Yeah. Some branches drop that. Your mileage may vary with saluting, it's not hurting anybody though.

Decline comment.
5.
INCI guys are generally cool. Decline further comment.
6.
To each their own. It is a nice avatar template.
7.
I speak solely for Cavalry here, but we've got virtually zero internal drama in the ranks. It sounds like you're generalizing here. If you were not, that wasn't clear.
Good read.
this article sums up why I dropped out of the cavalry and joined ST6
