Military Protection Pacts and the eUSA

Day 3,625, 15:43 Published in USA USA by Thomas Caggiano

In the following Article I will be posing questions on the issue of what looks to be an overwhelming legislative focus on Military Protection Pacts (From here on referred to us MPPs) in the eUSA, started by the last Administration and continued by this one, seemingly prioritized over everything else; What they mean for the Country; What they mean for our place in International Affairs; Their Pro's and their Con's and finally, what can and should be done about it, if anything at all.

During my extensive research for this article, in the hopes of providing insight into both sides of this nuanced issue, I interviewed a Foreign World Leader, an eUSA Congressman and a Serbian Mercenary who each separately gave their insight on the topic and received a wide array of viewpoints and beliefs and a plethora of information, which I have organized and simplified so that you, the reader, can make an informed opinion on the issue. I only hope that this Article proves true to the Charter Principles of this Journal and helps spark a gainful and beneficial debate in the Country, and the Congress.

What initially drew my attention to this topic was a simple statistical fact that frankly astounded me; In the past two weeks, 70% of Legislation proposed and voted on has been MPPs; Military Alliances with another Country, that ensure that if one of the two Nations goes to War, the other will help to defend it. Stop for a moment and consider that number. Seven out of ten Laws that our Congress is considering, and has been considering for the past two Administrations, are focused on international agreements with foreign Nations to go to War on their behalf, or vice versa if required. That means only three out of ten Laws are focused on the eUSA, its Internal Policy and Economy, and you; The Citizens of this Country. And when reviewing the past twenty Legislative Acts Proposed, I took notice that of the six that could be considered Public Policy; Five were Donations to the Congressional Budget Office (All but automatically approved transfers of money inside the Government) and one was a flawed Minimum Wage Proposal. In the past three weeks and of the past twenty Laws Proposed, not a single one addressed the needs of the Citizens of the eUSA, Internal Public Policy or the Economy (In a thoughtful fashion in this last case).

I was greatly concerned by the simple fact that virtually none of Congress' Time is being devoted to eAmerican Public Policy and the well being of our own Citizens. It is my belief that the Government exists to serve the people, and by the simple statistical facts, legislatively at least, that is not being done. Or even attempted.
My second set of concerns regarded two simple facts; Every MPP was approved with little to no debate. Not in the Forums or amongst the different Parties Congresspeople, per a source in the eUSA Congress itself. It was made fairly clear that these proposals are put forth and accepted without any forethought, debate or consideration. This is a dangerous precedent for many reasons. Also, upon further examination of the Nations with which we've entered MPP's with, some are governed by highly questionable and corrupt regimes that run counter to eAmerican values; For example, one of these MPP's was signed with Iran, a country run by a Criminal Dictatorship comprised of the Iranian Mafia and Army in union, poorly posing as a Democracy. Another was signed by Romania, which has been controlled by the same Political Party, never losing more than 55% of the vote in a single Presidential Election or losing their majority in Congress, for two years straight; An Oligarchy in everything but name. Lastly, we have Peru, which is an outright, declared Dictatorship. These are only three examples of Countries with corrupt Governments that we have carelessly signed MPP's with that run contrary to our values as a Nation and a People.

I also looked into the Armies and Economies of these Countries, as well as ours, and the overarching International Alliances that seem to come into play here to see if these MPPs were actually beneficial for our National Defense. Aside from Mexico and Canada, being bordering Nations, I could find not a single Country that would provide for the Defense of the eUSA. Speaking to a Serbian Mercenary, who fights in an eUSA Elite Mercenary Military Unit, I was given some interesting statistics regarding the possibility of an invasion of the eUSA and the need for these MPPs and then verified these facts with a Foreign President who wishes to remain nameless.

"The eUSA has many regions and colonies which give it bonuses and a boosted economy that far exceeds most other countries."

"The eUSA controls the most and the strongest 'Mercenary' Military Units (MUs) because its economy can pay, arm and feed the Fighters, both Foreign and Domestic, in order to maximize its firepower when needed."

"The eUSA has a budget of at least twelve million dollars that can be allocated for Defense, and further funds are (sic) hidden away for emergency purposes"

This 'hidden' money is an entirely different issue that should and will be followed up on and addressed, but not in this article.

Given just these simple facts, and the openly available statistics of our own Homegrown MUs, Population, and GDP, it is clear that these MPP's are one-sided; We will be drawn into Wars and spend eAmerican blood and treasure to help Countries that do not serve our National Interest; Several of which have Governments that clearly defy our Constitution and violate Human Rights and International Law, while these Countries would be of little help to us if we were ever invaded.
Our own Defense Budget and Military is more than up to the task to Defend the Homeland, and Mercenaries would come and fight for us whether we had these MU's or not, for the simple fact that we can and do fund the most powerful and numerous Mercenary Military Units and this is how they make their living.
My final set of concerns are that amongst all of these ostensibly rubber stamped MPPs are that our true Allies (I will be using Russia as an example shortly) are being ignored while we fight for Countries and Legislate for Countries at best "To be part of a greater Pacifica Alliance because eUSA has to maintain their 'Role' in International Affairs (Sic)" - (Foreign President Quote), at the cost of the independence and interests of the eUSA itself at best, and at worst because we are forced by outside influences to remain beneath a Foreign Power for fear of antagonizing them; "Iran is a member of Asteria and while personally, I dislike the government and the country itself, it is part of an Alliance controlled by eSerbia (the strongest Country in eRep) and keeping some ties with Asterian countries minimizes the possibility of getting attacked by Asteria (Sic)." - Foreign President Quote.

"A few weeks ago one of our true allies, Russia, was invaded by Turkey, Italy and Albania and conquered. We did nothing and Turkey, Italy and Albania (Sic) started to move into Finland as well until Poland got involved and seemed to have led the ouster of the invading forces." - An eUSA Congressman
Without much eUSA Support, from my own research.
To summarize this piece, I feel that our Administrations are unduly focusing on these MPP's instead of focusing on how to make the eUSA a better, more prosperous country, that several of these MPPs are with highly questionable Governments and offer us little benefit and finally that while eAmerican blood and treasure is being spent supporting Countries we have no real National Security interest in, our true Allies are being ignored.

Further, it seems that we are placing ourselves at the whims of Foreign International Alliances and allowing this to dictate our Foreign Policy to the point that we are signing MPP's with Military and Criminal Dictatorships as an act of appeasement. I can only hope this last piece does not lead down the path previous appeasements have in History. As a wise man once said, “An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.”
