MDU: The Month Ahead

I would like to take this opportunity to say my thank you to those that voted for me in the Party Presidential elections yesterday. You voted for me in the knowledge I would not let you down and I will continue to live up to your expectations serving the Movement for Democratic Unity for another month. Also, I would like to send thanks and wish the best of luck for the future to the other candidates in yesterday’s election: thehorseltd, Jamesy, metalvolt, and TheOnlyRyanCook.

I have a good feeling that this month will be even better than last month. I am not just saying that, but I honestly believe it. 5 months of continued growth, achievement and improvement should not stop here, and I will do all I can to prevent the stagnation of the MDU. In my second term as your Party President, I will build on the experience I have built in my first term and implement considerable change in this party. We will become more efficient, more organised, and more successful. While our party structure, which includes 5 departments and two elected offices, is completely functional, sometimes activities can be fragmented and individual. Therefore, one of my main focuses for the month ahead is teamwork.

Under this new initiative, Departments will be issued weekly agendas of their tasks for the week ahead, and will be set targets to meet. Also I will set up a thread where directors can share ideas and ask for solutions to problems. I will be keeping in contact with the directors personally, through private messaging. In addition, this month for the first time Directors will be elected through a forum vote.

We have received criticism for having no policies. This is not true, although we need to collate these opinions in one publicly available document. Over the next few days we will gather each member’s thoughts and views and decide upon our political stances.
For congress, we will again be trying our absolute hardest to ensure that only the best MDU candidates can stand and that all of our potential politicians have a published and readily available manifesto for public viewing.

Finally, I would like to announce my Vice Party President for this month: thehorseltd! He is an experienced party member, a dedicated congressman for his region, a talented artist and a budding politician. I have faith that he will continue to serve the Movement for Democratic Unity to the best of his ability and to live up to his predecessors.
