Make eUK Great - Get active!

Day 963, 13:12 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by ePocalypse

So, V2 has arrived (eRepublik Rising). It’s a big change from what we are used to in many ways. In other ways, not so different. There’s been much talk about the changes in game killing the 2 clickers. There will inevitably be some of this but hopefully more people will be attracted to start playing at the same time.

If you're having difficulty understanding how to keep you health and happiness high, refer to Kumnaas calculator for a simple way to work out the effects of your daily routine.

What will be key is how active and involved our citizens are. Whether that activity is in a government ministry, the military, IRC or simply getting involved in the community on the eUK forums, it’s all good. Our nation should be a welcoming place for new players with the active community working to encourage and support them. Getting people involved is a continuous, ongoing battle but is one that is worthwhile. I would estimate that 90% of people who sign up in eUK don’t continue to play beyond the first week. Retention of these new players is probably more important than actual recruitment since we get a decent amount of people joining up each day. If we can retain 20% instead of 10%, our community will begin to grow.

Think back to when you first joined up to eRepublik. It’s a pretty lonely place. You don’t know anyone, there’s some guy called Plato who tells you a couple of things and then decides he’s gonna hang out in the top corner of your screen but not actually tell you anything useful. You might find the wiki but it’s a lot to take in at the time. You might find the in-game forum but there’s very little there to help. The best way to get into the game and begin to enjoy it is through the community. Once you know people, you can begin to start to actually enjoy the game and the social aspect of it. Without getting involved with the community, it remains a lonely place and you’ll soon be wondering why you even bother. There’s plenty of ways to get involved and I’ll run through some of them now.

Join the eUK Forums

No, not the in-game forums, the external eUK forums. This is where the active community is. It’s a really active place and, although it can be hard to find your way around to start with, there is an answer there for just about any question you have (or someone ready to answer it). Join up today and ask as many stupid questions as you like and don’t mind the odd troll, they’re harmless really.
It’s also the place to join up to help in ministries, register with your political party to run for congress and maybe even have a bit of fun.

Join the Community Today!

Join the Army

The army is not just a fighting force, it’s a community. There are a great deal of players who have stuck around purely because of the community and support that the army gives them. Now, more than ever, an organised military is absolutely essential. With player vs player fighting and a new battlefield to understand, it is far better to have the support and guidance of your colleagues and commanding officers who are fighting alongside you. A lone gunman on the new battlefield is likely to be beaten very quickly indeed and that’s no fun for anyone – so join up and you’ll even get free supplies in return for working for a military company. The army will help you look after your wellness and happiness and will ensure you have enough money for food.

Get a Mentor

The eUK Home Office has a mentoring programme. These mentors are there to help. If you feel you could use a mentor to answer your questions or offer guidance as and when you need it, why not request one today?

A great way to keep informed. If you’re active on the forums and subscribed to these papers, you can be fairly confident that you are up to date with the goings on in eUK. From Prime Ministers updates to important domestic news published through the Home Office paper and Military orders, it’s all here. The NNA even rounds up the best of the weeks news and delivers it to your subs box. Please remember to also vote up articles from these papers, as it helps to give them maximum media exposure and keep others informed.

Join a Political Party
I’m a proud member of The Unity Party but would encourage anyone to do their research before joining any party. Although you can change parties, it’s better to choose the one that suits you in the first place.

Perhaps the best place to research each party is on the political parties wiki. In my experience, being a part of a good political party is a great way to get to know people and to be a part of a community with a common vision. After the majority of our population moved to London, the regional communities on the forum pretty much disappeared and for me, my political party was where I turned for community and involvement.

So there we have it, a few ways to get more involved. There are always things to do and the next great plan could come from you. Why not get stuck in and help push your nation forward?
